Does this ad more power? will you be able to tell..

to really get full benefit of a big bore you'll want to add an exhaust, switch to a 450r carb, add a piston with a bit more compression and most importantly get the head ported and depending on your type riding you'll want to add air scoops.

How much is that going to run me? I really need to keep stock exhaust where I ride in Mass its a must. I wouldnt mind doing that other stuff though

it adds up. no doubt about that. kinda redundant not to add the exhaust. i mean it'll run ok but will build up heat faster due to it being too restrictive for the larger bore ect ect.

if your simply wanting to get a bit more power from a stocker you could do lil minor stuff now like an axhaust, open lid box, maybe a lil cam and even a 450R carb until later but in all honesty...... i'd do a 416. its much less of a headache. imo

yea do the 416.that way when its time for a rebuild again you can go to a 426 then eventually a 440.id also recommend a crf 450 timimng chain and a hot cam stage 2 and an exhaust. that will make a huge difference.it would be sorta pointless to do these mods if the exhaust is going to be restricted. i recommend getting a quite core so its not too loud or the new lexx slip on.


also with a 440 it wont be as reliable and youll have to get new studs/vales to make it kind of reliable.
