Well its been a lonng time since I have posted on here. Been busy with alot of different things, but anyways I wanted to ask you guys what you think my bike is worth.
I have an:
04' Honda 450r
bought it in summer of 04, and here are some of the things I have done.
- 14:1 baldwin piston
- hrc cam
- port and polished head
- motor completely gone through, all new bearings/ seals. ect.
- vortec ignition
- pro design air filter kit
- jb LT a-arms
- jb swingarm
- pep 8 click LT triple rate zps shocks
- baldwin rear link
- lsr axle
- lsr anti-fade
- new stock rear carrier
- regina chain, new sprockets (13tooth frt)
- tag bars
- owens +1 steering stem
- all new bearings throughout bike
- new stock radiator
- new fenders, inner oil cooler shrouds, air box, new rubber grommets for the fenders
- maier hood
- pro design kill switch
- baldwin seat cover
- baldwin exhaust
- itp rear beadlocks, front baja reinforced wheels
- baja skid plate
- dg pro peg nerf bars
-works connection clutch lever
- baldwin hot start cable
- new brake lever, billet throttle cover, brake master cyl cover, brake block off.
- new tie rods
- handgaurds

Since getting the bike in 04, i have a half season in 05, and half a season in 06 the suspension was put on right before 05 and the motor and all new parts were put on before 06. I raced it only a handful of times since building the bike the second time and i put it away everysince. I still change the fluids and keep everything greesed. Still looks new.

Anyways, the reason I am asking is because i was happy just keeping the quad, but now my buddy was wanting to know what i wanted for it.
Any ideas what it might me worth?

thanks alot guys,
mike

Well without pics its hard to say, but from the upgrades you could be looking in the 5000.00 range, its hard getting much out of 04-05 450r's, I bought one similar to yours for 3500.00, it just depends on how anxious you are to sell and how good of a salesman you are.
Check your frame in the footpeg mounting areas, sub frame, tank mount and upper handlebar mounts for cracks, these are notorious for weak spots, if they are ok, your buddy should consider a gussett kit before these start to go.
They are awesome bikes though, I have 2 of them and would not trade for a newer one... JMO..

If you were really going to sell it I would start out at $6000-6500.

That suspension helps a lot, people go crazy for PEP =)

Plus all the new bearings through out is a really nice selling point.

The resell value on bikes like these is really depressing compared to how much is put into them.
My bike has more then 15k into it (including the bike cost) and another 2k after this winters rebuild.
Yet I prolly couldn't sell it for much more then 6k.

Yeah, that was mine smoking, the ol' stocker got me the whole shot with a win, I run the 2 hour harescrambles though...
Nice looking bike, I think the 5500 range would be an easy sell.

Love the USA theme if that's what you were going for, I've wanted to build one like that for a while. If it wasn't for the economy I'd be interested easy $5000 imo

Thats a really nice quad! I love the scheme of it, reminds me of the old Hondas

Thanks alot everyone for your input! Yeah its a little deppressing thinking about all the money in it and then what i would have to sell it for. But then again i didnt build it to make a profit. If I do choose to sell it, it will be tough because personally its worth more to me then the actual value. (When i was dating my wife, we would go to all the races togeather with it and when we got married we actually rode off on the quad :) .. The cool thing about it is she likes the quad more then i do ;)

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. -With this economy, it's gonna be tuff getting good cash outta someone's hand. Wallets are tightening EVERYWHERE!! (even in northNJ)

Whatever someone is willing to pay, of course.

I just bought an 06 trx450er, mostly stock and in good shape for $3100.
