DOT 3 possible?

I live in a remote area of alaska, and I'm new to the 400. Will DOT 3 brake fluid be okay to use? All they have is Dot 3, Haven't seen any dot 4 around.
Help?

You need to use the DOT4 fluid in there. The main reason between DOT3 and DOT4 is the boiling point and DOT4 contains borate esters. The DOT4 has a higher point at 446 degrees while DOT3 is 401 degrees. Mixing different rated brake fluid is not recommended because it can accelerate internal corrosion in the brake system.

dot 3 and 4 can be mixed but i wouldnt recommend it. dot 5 will not mix with 3 or 4.
