How much is a good running 350X motor? What years are best to use for the 300EX/350X conversion? What other mods need to be done to except the motor? Thanx

no forget powroll...just buy a complete 350x wiring harness off ebay like i did...under 50 bucks...cut about 1 1/2 inch off back upper left motor mount off the motor..then all of your stock 300ex motor mounts will work...and grind alittle off the oil bolt to at the top...any year 350x will work...im gona start with a 400ex header and make it fit from there..

Wheres a good place to find a 350X motor?

How much do you think I could get for my stock motor? Its a 2000 model, all stock, awesome condition, oil/oil filter/ spark plug changed every 3-4 rides, valves always checked and adjusted if nessecary every few months. Id sell all the electrics, carb, and exaust seperate.

live2ride do you just want a motor to slap in and go or one to build up for performance.
If you want one to build I have a perfect motor for that it needs a fresh top end rebuild (I think it is on its first over bore now, will have to check to make certain). The rockers are worn but if your going with a aftermarket cam you will need them hard welded anyway (you can send these ones to a company to hard weld).
The only other problem is where the oil cooler bolts to the side case one hole on each fitting is stripped I ran it like this and it didn't leak (this can easily be fixed by yourself or if you don't have the know how any shop in your local area can easily fix this for under 30$

i just got my 350x engine yesterday, and i am in the process of putting it in. I have grinded off about 1inch off of the motor mount and it seems to be fitting in there better. Also, where does everybody put there oil cooler. And where do you put the clutch cable so it doesnt move around at the engine, on the 300 there is a holder thing for it. And I need a 350x kickstarter and a wiring harness.

what i did was i bought a 350x for $800, a whole trike. it was indecent shape, turftamers on rear, renthal bars, maier plastics etc....it was deff worth it. Then i put the 350x motor in my quad, and the 300ex motor in the trike. I then sold the trike for $1000 to some old guy. I liked the trike, b.c it was the only one with reverse. i deffinatley made out good, and i made $200 + got a much faster quad in the process. 350xs go for like 750-1500 in good condition. Thats what i would do, just my 2 cents.

Thats an awesome deal acracin300ex, you made out good.

250xR#271- Ya, I was actually considering gettin the powroll 393cc kit for it. So all your motor needs is a top end rebuild? Does it need new valves or timing chain? Is it still running, or did it blow up or what? How much do you want for your motor? Im deffinatly interested in it. How is the bottom end? Is there anything wrong with it? Do you have all the electrics, exaust and carb? Thanx man

01_300ex- Got ne pics of urs?

Anybody know how much my 300ex motor is worth?
Thanx for all your help guys

Where do you connect your clutch cable at, at the bottom of the engine to hold it in place.

I'm interested in the 300ex motor. If anyone wants a good 300ex with a blown motor for a 350X conversion, PM me. I'm looking to get $1200 for a complete 300ex with a blown motor.

How much are you willing to spend? The motor is a 2000 model. Its in great condition, nothing wrong with it, oil/oil filter/spark plug changed every 3-4 rides. Valved checked/adjusted every few months. This motor is in great shape and runs awesome, its completely stock. Thanx

its the top rear engine mount. The mount is on the engine and not the frame.

LIVE2RIDE, I think all you have to do if he does have a carb, is to find a good used 400ex carb. Because they but 350x carb boots w/ a 400 carb on 300's. :macho
