2 stroke in a 300ex [Archive]

i need as much info on doing a swap like this as you guys could give me.i want to do it right not some cobb up peice of crap.links,pictures an whatever else you can come up with.im looking at the blaster motor for now.thanks:devil:

blaster motor in a honda? c'mon! why not a 250r or cr125 or cr250 or something? stick w/ honda. i think a 400ex engine or 450 on a 250ex would be pretty cool. it would go so fast. :)

if you read post again you will see i said 300EX not 250.why not blaster,parts are cheap,ton aftermarket sapport,its air cooled no rad to deal with,so simple an fun.i just want info on two stroke swaps in the 300ex,not everyone telling dude put a cr500,750 crotch rocket motor,banshee,bla bla bla.

i'm just saying stick w/ honda. it would be better. may not be as easy though. as for the 250, i was just throwing out some ideas. Yamaha and honda are like rivals. some **** might get stirred up cause of that thing. i know you don't want to spend outrageous amounts of money though.

kx 500 is a good fit ton of low end sorry don't have pics any more
cr 500 would have been nice but i had the kx
this was a very tarilable machie and a lot lighter

don't do a blaster motor. they're not even a real 2 stroke acting machine..belive me. i raced on one for 2 years with a fully built motor. do a cr125 motor. they only need a small rad and they're fun! hahha

If ur bent on doing a blaster, buy a rebuilt bottom end and get the vitos 240 12-port top end kit. Its like 600 bucks but its supposed to put out some ridiculous horsepower. Otherwise cr250 all the way...rads are cheap mounting a rad will be easy compared to the rest of ur swap. U need to be a very compatant welder. And make sure u include provisions to stop all the vibrations. good luck

dont do a junky vitos 240 there plating sucks and pistons are crap go with project blaster or ct
vitos are known for melt downs in the race world,there cylinder walls are softer then other brands
