I have an 07' and everytime i turn the key on, it blows the fuse next to the battery. The green light wont even come on. As soon as that key is turned, the fuse blows. Do i have a short somewhere or something? and if i do, how do i fix it? much help would be appreciated.

Pull the plastics off, and look for any exposed wires. Especially the wires that run beside the airbox and where the subframe mounts. I've known two people that had wires exposed in this area from friction.

I wrapped mine in another layer of electrical tape so this wouldn't happen.

mine did the same thing. after going through the whole bike and about 15 fuses, we unplugged the rear brake light switch and that's what it was.

i already have my rear brake light unplugged :/. There are no wires touching my frame, that i can see with the plastics off anyway...

do you have just the light unplugged or the switch attached to your rear brake pedal too? my problem was the switch.

might sound stupid but i had a guy bring a 450 to me with the same thing going on. after about 8 hrs of tracing wires i found he put the battery in backwards and reversed polarity
