I apologize......i was in a beer state of mind. Yes...the video would probably help us out...as well as what pipe said..were does it sound like it is coming from? Top, bottom of the motor?

it is coming from the top-end. i will have the video link up somtime tonight hopefully. could it be the valves need adjusted??? oh and the only way i could get it to start this morning was to pull start it. i has the green neutral light and everything when i hit the starter button the green light dims and then nothing. it won't even turn over. i just replaced the solonoid a couple months ago. this thing has to many electrical issues!! any help is appreciated immensly!! i'm trying to get this stupid quad in order for my '09 xc season and its not looking like there gonna be much racing at the rate i'm moving!!

you might want to check your head gasket. when mine blew it had a whistling sound... then it started to sound like a machine gun.

no it has been this way for over a year but only when it is cold outside. after the engine warms up once that day it doesn't make the noise again. i could outside right now after it has been sitting for a few hours and it will not the make the noise cause i drove it earlier.
