For adding stability to a quad,...
Which do you think has the best, or better, or most effect?

If you were only going to do ONE, of the TWO choices below,....

Which would you do ???

Choice # 1........... +2" a-arms (+2" each side),
OR,
Choice # 2........... +4" rear axle (4" wider TOTAL)

i think as far as stability or controlling "body roll" an axle would have more of an effect, however i think it would have more of a negative impact overall. i ran just +2s for a while on my 400 and it did add quite a bit of stability, but it wasn't until i got the extended axle that they shined. basically what i'm rambling about is that i would shoot for extended a arms before an axle.

I would have to agree.

the front end is going to cost a heck of a lot more than the axle :(

Hi Guys,
no offense intended here.
but my question is intended for getting everyone's opinion on simply which is most/more effective.

4" wider in the front, VS. 4" wider in the back.
(basically just the physics of it)

not about cost vs. cost front to rear.
Obviously the front end requires much more cash.

I'm only wanting to compare equal to equal width increases.

i say get the front end first.
if you get to wide in the rear you may get the three wheeler effect.
i have a +2 front end with a stock axle and im very happy with the peformance.
not to say an axle wouldnt help, but im happy with it for the moment :)

yea go with the front end, just the rear end with stock front handles like crap, i had it done to my 300ex, it didnt steer as good, it felt like i was pushin the front end

I say go for the A-arms over the axle.

The reason I say this is if you go with +2 arms, you will need better front shocks to go with it as well. The wider arms coupled with better shocks will make the quad handle worlds better over stock. That will hold you over until you complement the front end with a wider axle.

If you just do the wider axle, you still have your crappy stock suspension F/R except the rear end is a little wider.

I think the choice is pretty clear ;)
