When i get my 400ex what should i put on it for MX?


I heard 440kit makes it over heat a lot! and i want the 440kit

before going eaven close to the engine get tires wheels and an axle. those would be ur best first mods.

Shocks, nerfs, tires, axles, a-arms. Get all the suspension and widening stuff, then go into the engine.

ok..things may be alittle different for everyone but if i had alot of money and a 400ex i would get
elka ssd and everything shocks
houser+2 arms
rpm or lonestar axle
turf tamer 18in rears on champion red ring beadlocks
holeshot fronts
shaved fenders
curtis sparks x-6 full system
ac pro peg nerfs
renthal bars
425 or 416 kit with everything./..ok im done, i know you wouldnt have the money to do that after u buy a 400 but some of that stuff is reasonable lol...ps, im bored so thats why i wrote all that

i have heard alot of ppl say they should have gotten shocks first and that would be a smart thing. you could sell your stock ones for more money becuase they would be almost brand new so that would take a chunk out of aftermarket shocks. next i would go with a-arms and make it wider then i would buy a air filter and a pipe... then go to the motor

the axle will make u go fast and the tires for handeling, then buy a-arms and shocks, you should also get handlebars right away becasue they make handeling alot better

I just got a deal a 250r that has a messed up carb but the guy said he is going to buy a new one and put it in their and it has paul turner pipes its got nerfs and new spare paddle tires on chrome doulous rims other than that its stock its for about 2200 should i go with it? or should i go with 4 stroke power?!?!??!?!

its your choice and if that 250r was in nice shape i would go for it but its your preferance and mostly comes down to do you have the time and money for a 2 stroke.

lol don't touch the motor and I honestly would wait on axel tires and wheels and get some nerfs, bumper, race bend bars, tether, cut fenders and then some nice shocks and maybe a k&n.

Sounds about like your setup. :rolleyes: If you are gonna get big into mx racing, the first things to get are nerfs,kill cord,a arms,shocks,axle, and tires. The handle bars and bumpers and stuff make it look good, but aren't a must have for racing. The a arms, axle,ect. is what you will benefit from the most.
