Howdy fellows! I did search and could not find what I was looking for so heres my question. I have the HMF slip on Muffler on an 04 400ex and it is pretty loud, I like it loud but I`m sure by now my neighbors hate to hear it fire up:D I would like to keep the muffler but is there a way to make it quiter with a different tip? or is the sound controlled in the core of the muffler?

Here is a link I found with different size tips
http://www.procircuit.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=199&idcategory=227
if you scroll down where is says Size/Diameter it says Quite 4.0" base and it shows a pic of it, here is a pic of the outside diameter of my muffler with the current tip off, would this tip fit and would it make it any quiter?

and heres the measurement on the tip that is on there now

thanks brian! I missed that link somehow when I was looking earlier! it says with the quitecore it will lower the sound by 4-6dB, is that a noticable difference for $25? or should I just stick with what I`ve got? it also says you will have to repack the muffler more offten that is one thing I have not checked yet, need to get some rivets before I do that, I also noticed mine does not have a spark arrester probably will need one of those if I go to a park/track to ride.

You dont need a spark arrestor to ride tracks.

Thanks I thought I saw a sign at one of the tracks but I must have been mistaken oh well! What places do you have to have a spark arrester at?

Mostly any of your national forestry areas and some local atv clubs trails also require them.

What about the HMF quiet core? I have it and its deffinately not as loud. Idling its just the slightest bit louder than stock and a rev is loud but noticably quieter compared to the exhaust without it. I think its only $20-25 too. Rather than a 2" opening it reduces it to 1" I believe.
