Winter Projects, let's see em!

Even with the struggling economy I know everyone out there is still doing SOME sort of winter build, powder coating or even just good ol tlc.. lets see it!!:macho


Here's mine,

I had it all together but since this winter is turning out to be not too good for riding I'm tearing it apart and doing a little sprucing up plus, who doesn't like having a nice looking quad every riding season?!

It's an 86 250r so I'm going to try and keep it as close to O.E.M looking as possible..:D :macho

Here's a winter project I have at work that I'm doing..

SO far I have 150 hours in this terd. the old owner sand blasted it and warped the entire roof and sides... :eek2:

i refinished a 74 bug like yours. and its hood was wavy as all hell. we tried to make it look as good as we can. but still looked crappy.

ps. what kind of sealer do you guys use over there?

PPG I can't remeber the # but I'll look for you! It's great stuff though!! I use it on frames and quad parts and the paint will wear off over time but this stuff seem's to hang in there pretty well.. It helps seal small surface rust too almost like POR15 and Zero rust, also like many other sealers it takes over night, sometimes 24 hours to fully flash and cure! This bug is a 67, It's going to be prowler purple, I'm hoping I can get it done in the next 2 months for the guy, I just put the front half on and got it all blended in now I have to weld in the back section because once I hit it with the grinder there was polyester bondo half inch thick! The thing is, all the parts come from brazill because belive it or not they are still made over there, but you cannot import one because they do not meet the US's safety regulations, sucks! I wouldn't mind having one lol.. :p

It's his wifes car, he's putting all new interior, wheels, motor and such once I am done with the thing.. Can't wait to post pictures of it finished!! :D

WHen my grandfather died, he left me this old honda he bought brand new. It had 5k miles on it and was stored in his basement since 1980 when I was born. I brought it home at the end of the summer and started tearing it down.

Ah another project that's rolling along slowly.. She spun out on me in the snow the other day and I broke the lower valance, looks like its high ridin box style but it's just cause it's missing the valance cover lol.. bent the bumper a little too, good thing it's goin into work for some tlc soon.. time for some body work n visor destroyness :p

Here's my long travel f150. its far from finished. I've got 14in of suspension travel up front and 16in in the rear(deaver leaf springs). Saving up for a fiberglass front end. When i jump it the tires slam into my fenders:rolleyes: shoulda known that was going to happen. I had to put my stock spindles back on so that cut down on my width up front because the first day i had them on i got pulled over for my truck being to wide :confused:

Pick up this little booger to play with. It's a 02 xr50 with a pitster gpx 125 motor fmf pipe ishock pro circut springs up front big bars and a tall seat. Just got my new plastics on it and waiting for the rest of my suspension parts to get here. My big bike style swing arm came in yesterday.

my 110 is almost done with its winter work, doing the motor probly in summer because i can't afford to do it now:o

its getting a 165 big bore, roller rocker head with larger ports, may have it p&p, an HD output shaft, 4th gear, HD shift star, new clutch plates, and possibly the 28mm carb over my current 26mm. trying for upper teens in HP.

got my marzocchi forks on now, waiting for pax racing to send bearings, and my brakes to come. and possibly pc'ing the wheels and hubs black

I would sugest anodizing rather then pc on the wheels. It seems to hold up a little better on bike wheels.
