I need somethin better than the factory set up on the front of my R. I am also on a tight budget.

I was thinking of gettin some 450r shocks but i heard they are pretty stiff and raise the ride height a inch or so. That can be solved tho by sending them into GTthunder and havin them worked.

BUT if i decide to get +2 standard travel a arms will the shocks work ok how they are stock?

So what i'm sayin is: Do i get just the 450r shocks and send them off to GT and use the factory a arms? Or do u think +2 arms and some factory 450r shocks will be less stiff?

I really don't wanna spend alot of cash since i'm not a racer just a "freedom rider"

thanks for any help!

if you want to improve your ride/handling, yes, you can purchase 450R shocks, and send them to GT thunder to be re valved/sprung for your machine. it will be worlds better than your 20 year old oem 250r shocks. plus they will be tuned for your weight/ riding style.

i think that would be the better choice, unless you want to widen the quad with +2 a arms. I have a buddy who did that, he got +2 std. travel a arms, and 450R shocks. the 450R shocks were still stiff, even with the +2 a arms. he still had to send them out to be revalved/sprung.

So i'm lookin at spendin money on

450r shocks

+2 arms

revalve from GT thunder.

or just the shocks and revalve and i'll be set, and save money on buyin the arms.....but i kinda want wider arms but then comes wider axle etc....lol. It never ends

thanks for the help

you can always buy a good set of +2 a arms used, and a axle. the important thing is that you have a machine that handles well. no sence of having the fastest motor, if the machine cannot handle it.

if i were you, get the shocks, get them revalved, make sure you got some good tires..... and ride the hell out of it. then, in the future, you can always go to a wider setup.

I still got a few months b4 its warm enuf to ride so i'm gonna start off by getting some 450r shocks and some +2 a arms, maybe burgards.

Then if its warmed up by then i'll test it out and see how the 450 shocks do w out getting worked over and go from there.

thanks for all the help!

I looked around for 8 weeks looking for a deal on +2 a arms, then I found it a new set of +2 +1 burgard a arms with tie rods for $220.00 shipped from Burgard they said there was a nick in the powder coat on the bottom of one of the arms, I never found it.
