Ice Racing Screws

Has anyone used sheet metal screws instead of ice racing screws. If so, how was the performance? Racing in 1 ice race and wanted to use something laying around the house if possible.

sheet metals screws are junk. Get some screws meant for racing. The sheet metal screws rip out really easy and they don't have much traction. thats my opinion suit yourself

kind of on the same subject,I was just today thinking of converting a set of tires into studded tires.I know the process was discussed lots of times when I wasn't interested but now I'm pretty sure I want to go for it.Anybody have some suggestions for me?
