Swingarms from 06 to 05

I am running an 06 450R and have a complete mx setup except for the rear. I was considering just changing out the rear shock and link. I already have a gt thunder mx link. I have found several shocks on a forum. Would an Elka LT shock and link off of an 05 fit for my use?

No, the linkage mounting point on the swingarm is different.

it WILL bolt up, but it will work horribly, i did this without knwoing and someone on here let me know because it happened to them as well, he said he would be going through whoops and it would randomly jus buck him off


If you get a complete rear end though it will work

Yea, I guess I should have made my answer a little more clear. A complete 05 rear end (shock, linkage, and swinger) will work on an 06+ frame. You just can't mix and match 05 shock/linkages with 06 swingers.

I love it now that I've got my shock dialed in. It doesn't buck at all like any other setup I've ran.
