I have been calling around trying to find a new 2007 or 2008 450R and have not had any luck. Does anyone know of any real good deals on left over prior years stock in the Southeast area? I have called Lakehill and Abernathy's and no luck there.

they are legit at southern honda. Ive bought 3 or 4 from there and you might as well stop looking you wont find one cheaper. they are the #1 volume dealer in the NATION. Just remember to pay taxes on it when you get it back to your state because they do turn papers in to your state and you will get busted for not paying tax on it. Just my 2 cents!

I called and spoke with Don at Southern Honda, real nice guy. Looks like I can get one for right at $5000 out the door. Pretty good price for a new one.

Right now a I am just trying to decide between this Honda and a YFZ. I can not seem to find a YFZ for this price.

No doubt it is, that is why I am having a hard time deciding between a YFZ or the 450R. Here is my dilemma, I have always been a Honda guy since I bought my first 250R in 1987 and then a 1988 in 1990 or so (just sold it last month). I rode that 88 250R everywhere and it never let me down. Many places if it had I would have to have left it there. With that being said, after riding a 2005 YFZ and a 2004 450R, I really like the Yamaha better. I was really surprised at the power it had, it was brand new that weekend, (completely stock) and I really like the way it had a noticeable hit to it. The Honda I rode was nothing like it, pretty boring actually. I understand the 06 and up Hondas are a lot different now. This topic has been beaten to death and it looks like from the dyno charts I have seen they end up at about the same on power - about 46 to 48 or so.

Is the 2006 and up 450R that much stronger than the 04 I rode?

Cant help ya on that one. I would say find someone with a newer model an see if you can try it out an see how it feels. I believe they are both good bikes with the proper maintaince but im like you a honda fan. 5k is alot to not be happy with.

The YFZ has had the FCR carb from day one. Honda didn't start using it until 06. The 06 and up Hondas are more like the YFZ you rode.

Get the 07' over the 08'. I have the 08' and the only difference is the 08'+ have auto decompresser on the cam and it limits your cam upgrade options. O and a cover over the gas tank yippey lol.

I just bought one. When I called around they would say 4999 + destination charges of about 600. I called 12 different dealers and they all had 07's in white. I did the who can beet the other guy and got it for 5400 + tax/title. It was the best price.

I rode an 05 last week for the first time and it was nothing compared to my 08. The 05 was stock, but it really felt more like a 440ex than a 450r.

What about in the NJ area? I can travel to PA, Virginia, WV, DE, NY, CT for a good deal. I'm not afraid to drive 2-300 miles, as long as the price justifies it. Prefer RED & electric start.

I have an 04 - love it. Blew it up & on the rebuild put the HRC in. While being ripped off at the dealer on that service I went else where & bought an 07 w/ The HRC in.

If you love to ride - put the HRC kit in it.

The 07 is faster than the 04.

The boys like the 04 better than the 07 - our stuff is pretty much stock.

The dif between them & me is - I pay the bills, 120 Lbs,32 years & I like mine stiff.

FYI - in Jersey , mine came from Burgers in Three Bridges(Flemington). Black w/ the red flames. Anyway - don't buy new - to many people looking to get rid of stuff - you'll be paying an extra 3000 on interest/& "the new factor" when you could pick up an 07 around 4000-4500 used. keep looking

At close to $5k used, I'd rather chaulk it up & buy it new w/ warranty for a couple bucks more.
