most of the people on here will say a honda since thats what they ride.there are so many new great 450s out now it dificult to pick,i think it comes to self preference.one helpful thing which i think you should do is go to the reviews section of this site and read em all and mayb that'll make you make up your mind,if it does or not i think itd be wise to read em all. me personaly i hardly know what id take anymore,if i had money id buy a used 450r and then keep it till honda comes out with a re-done model that compares better with all the others

i think the best 450 out there is the one YOU like. i own kaw, yam and honda. only 1 is a 450 and they all have there place.

look around, ride some and see what you like.

If I was buying new I would get the new YFZ450R.

all the 450s are good bikes now. some are better than others in different ways. what i did when i bought my new 450 is.. i rode every one that i could and if i could not get a ride on it i went to the dealer and sat on it. just buy the one you feel the most comfortable on. for trails a 3 mod kfx450 is really nice & dune i'd have to go w/ the ltr450. a z400 would be a good choice too. especially if you're buying a new one.

yeah I am going on probably 4 or 5 dune trips this summer and need a new quad. so I'm just going to keep looking. But I really like the kfx That or the yfz so far. But hopefully I get a new one within the month

the DS450 is also a nice choice. amazing lightness and awesome steering as well as EFI. but when i was trying to make my decision it was between the DS the YFZ and the new polaris 450. it really depends on what you feel comfortable on. im a bigger guy so i like the DS and felt more comfortable but its a matter of preferance. any quad you buy can be made to go as fast as you want ithin reason with aftermarket stuff but he reason i say to look at the DS is because of the dunes and its lightness

yeah I'm not exactly the smallest guy on the world. So throughout the next weeks I am going to go to the dealorships and just sit on all the bikes. Too see which one that I like.

drive the can-am. its simply amazing steering and cannot be emphasized through words. you really just feel in control which i like

if money wasnt a problem, i would go for the ktm xc or sx.

but honeselty, the 450r is a nice quad, and im not just saying that cuz i have one. its deffinatly not the best out there, buts used and new there cheap, last forever, and have good power. its allround a good quad

Oh yeah if I had the money I would get a ktm In a heart beat but that's just a little on the expensive side. And I always thought that the can ams were always really heavy. But I guess that has changed since the last time I saw them.
