using 450r swingarm

couldnt you use the 450 swing arm without using the linkage by welding on a no link setup like the stock 300ex.

I don't think the shock would work properly without the linkage.

If your talking about welding a tab to the 450r swinger and using a shock similer to the stock 300ex shock, I was thinking of doing the same thing. If you think about it, it should work fine, as long as the new tab is weled the same distance from the pivot bolt as the shock mount on a 300ex swinger. IMO ... Then you could use a stock 2001 660r shock and would not have to worry about the tab on the frame or the pro link.

thats what i was thinking too quadcobbler.thats what i would like to do with the ex i have ,just got an almost brand new 01 raptor shock for $47.00.plus ad a 400ex front end an i thick it would be pretty sweat.plus im also thinking about a 2 stroke swap too.thanks:devil:

What are the advanages of a no link set up? I am thinking that the link will give you added travel. Does anyone know what shock will fit the 450r swing arm on a 300ex frame without fabrication? I put the swing arm on my frame last night.
