Xtreme 125 stock exhaust question

I have an Xtreme 125 with a stock exhaust. I took the exhaust off and was looking inside it, where it bolts to the head. There is a brass piece inside the pipe, I don't know if it's welded or if it can be knocked out to allow for more flow. If I do this, would the exhaust leak? Thanks for any help!

That's a exhaust gasket and if you remove that the exhaust won't seal properly with the head. You'll more than likely have an airleak.

I think there is a seal that stays inside the head when you pull the pipe off but i'm not sure. That's why I was thinking that this piece inside the pipe could be taken out. Thanks for the help!
