gforce axle sprocket hub removal

how do u get the dang clip off that holds the sprocket hub on??? its loose and i was gunna take it off and try and get a new one but i cant get the retaining snap ring off that holds it on

its a beeetch. I had to do it once when i bent a sprocket hub. The best way i found was to spread it open with any kind of pliars you can get in the slit and take a small pick or screw driver and get up underneath of it.
