I got some heavy duty springs when I did my 440. I'm going to go with the Sparks 8-plate when my stocker goes. Its just a combo of 300ex and 250R steals and fibers so the stock basket can be used.

Has anyone tried the EBC dirt racer clutch? It uses different material then the stockers. Just wondering if anyones used it. It's the plates springs and the what not. no basket on this one.

aftermarket clutches like barrnet, ebc, and verseh(sp?) all are suppose to grip like **** but they don't last as long as stockers due to softer fiber plates

Either get the Hinson full 8 plate setup, or go with something like the Sparks, which TC, FDO, GT Thunder, and a few other Engine builders offer. When my Clutch is dead I will either get the Hinson setup, or just go with a Hinson basket and a kit like the Sparks, but from TC. I think that would be a hot ticket.

The hinson 8 plate is the best hands down, no one will argue that. I dont know how much it is, but you need:
Hinson clutch basket
Inner hub
pressure plate
stock discs
springs
and i think i read you need the cover mod so it will fit but im not sure..515$ just for that

So youd have like a 1200$ clutch by the time you bolt the case cover back on.

That's why the Sparks and a Hinson Basket would work just fine. :devil

I have the sparks one and it would work I had no clutch at all.Sparks says on some you need to put a 1 mm thick shim behind the bearing to shim it out for the same space that FDO and Gt thunder machine into your pressure plate. If I had to do again Id either buy FDO or Gt thunders set up to begin with right now Im running stock ex clutches with heavy duty springs TC says that the 8 discs is worth about an extra month of riding before you would have to change them verses the 7 disc to me its not worth the money.

Really? I have never talked to Tom about Clutches. Every time I ask him he just tells me to run the Stock until something happens to it. I would get whatever he told me to though. He knows what he is doing.
