Other than the spindel being solid and the hub stronger on 06 and up ive heard that people like the 04-05 spindel hub set up .

yea.. i put an 05 entire front end (except shocks) on my 06.. the 06 and up front ends push real hard in turns, and they feel tippy... the 05 front end is much more stable i feel..

The 05 front ends turn a little sharper as well. Essentially, the difference in the spindels is the distance away the wheel mounts from the centerline of the spindel. It's the same principal as the difference between 4-1 wheels and 3-2 wheels. The closer the wheel is to the centerline of the spindel, the better it is going to handle.

If you take a 4-1 wheel, mount it on a 04 front end and then a 06+ front end, you will see the difference in distance at the top balljoint. On the 04, the wheel will actually cover part of the balljoint. While on the 06+, it doesn't come close to being directly over the balljoint (almost 1/4 inch to the outside).

2004-2005 upper a-arms are 1/4" longer. If you run 2004-2005 spindles on 2006 a-arms, your camber will be different. If you are running stock a-arms then you won't be able to adjust for this. Doesn't sound like much but 1/4" is hard to adjust for even with most aftermarket a-arms. My quad has 2006 Houser a-arms with 2005 hubs and spindles. I am at 4.5° of camber with the lock nut as far out as I can go.

hm. sounds silly.. if you're going to put 04/05 spindles, why buy 06 aarms??

started with a new 2006 450r. Bought Houser Sli-cast a-arms, Stadium shocks, and RPM axle. Still didn't like the way it turned so I installed a set of 2005 spindles and hubs that I originally bought for the 400ex. It seemed to make it easier to steer and turn.

I would probably switch back to the 2006 hubs and spindles but I put them on the 400ex along with new calipers. This works perfectly. The 2005 spindles don't work too well on the 400ex since the camber is off by too much.

Dose anyone have any 04-05 hubs and spindles for sale?
