sounds like you have a Houser swingarm with no mounts for a skid and you need to trade for a swingarm with skid mounts

thats what i thought... would a 400ex swingarm work on my 89 chassis? what linkage would i use?

The 400EX swing arm has a gap in the pivot, where the late 250R does not. That, and I don't think the linkages match up.

You might call Houser and see if they'll weld the skid mounts on.

I tryed this once, and If I remember right the linkage does not mount to the frame right, but the R swinger will work on the Ex with the right dog bone.

I have a LSR Swingarm XC style that is a 88/89 Length and Brand new Skid plate for it. I plan to sell if you are interested.

Here is a pic if you are interested, if so - PM Me.

Thanks,
Dan

So they have a refurbishing department that cleans grease, replaces bearings, decals, and powdercoating from your Houser part, but they won't weld some skid plate mounts........................
