Anything i can do to keep the lock nut tight? I tried almost everything it seems like. And i am almost positive i have it on in the right place but can you guys tell me what the proper method to do and what are some ways to keep it from coming loose?

You can electrical tape the two lock nuts together. I did that and I haven't had it come loose since.

try using thread lock in conjunction with the tape idea. i have had the same problem ever since i got a new axle and i decided that i'm just going to get a RAD locknut.

You'll be glad you did....SO much easier to deal with and it never comes loose!

this is the link to the lock nut lock that i bought on ebay. it is the perfect thickness for the space between the inside nut and the rotor hub. you put this on and it makes it to where the jam nut has no where to go. works very very well. dont put tape on it.. lol

Why no tape. It works just as good as anything else, at least for us it did can't speak for everyone though.

The RAD locknut is a charm. My outer nut was rusted so I couldnt even turn it. We had a 6ft gas pipe on the wrench end and it wouldnt turn. Ended up cutting it off and got a RAD!

sorry if i made you made by saying dont use tape. that just seems like rigging it to me. i have always been real particular about doing things the exact way they were intended... no hard feelings

Loctite has never worked for me. I had used grey duct tape. Always worked for me.

I had same issues,so i centre punched every face (nuts parallel) right in the guts where the nuts meet.Just on the edge of both nuts. No probs since...

Drill a small hole in each nut, and safety wire it to the hub on the rear brake disc. Also blue loctite. Paint a line across each nut and you can take a quick visual if they are tight. Its hard to explain the wire method. Any airplane mechcanics help me out with some photos?
