I have Limewire and I'm having a problem with the searching of music. I'm guessing its time to move on to something different. Any input or is anybody else have this problem??

FROSTWIRE FROSTWIRE FROSTWIRE

lol.

I used limewire and hated it. Frostwire is a much simplier layout and just 10x better in general.

Limewire was known to trash your computer after using it for some time. I can't tell you how many computers came into our shop for a "wipe & reload" because of limewire. I used it, but I used it on a computer I didn't need for any other reason. I kept all the data on a second partition so when limewire trashed it, I could reload the "C:" with a restore disk I made beforehand.

Frostwire I never heard of, I wonder if it will do the same thing.

Areslite is hands down the best. Idk if its offered anymore but ares doesn't let you download any bullcrap. The sound quality is way better. I hate limewire, but I got limewire bc I had trouble downloading areslite.

bearshare is good. I used to pay for pro and that was even better. The new one is pretty expensive considering its itunes style format.

And any P2P program will mess up your computer, just watch what you are downloading, dont open any exe files and do not download songs that have file sizes that are only a few hundred kb's. They are the viruses. Not sure how norton works but when I am using any P2P program mcafee automatically scans every file right when it downloads and then removes it if it contains a trojan.

torrents are good because you can download whole albums and discographies. I havent had a problem yet but a lot of people are weary of it.

i downloaded a program called utorrent

then i download all my music off of demonoid.com

its pretty simple have the utorrent program open and sign up for demonoid and just click on what you want

I can't count the amounts of viruses, spyware, wrong stuff and files that didn't work using napstar and limewire. I do everything using bittorrent now, few bad stuff, as its mostly hackers/pro piraters that uploaded the files and many come from the hacker/pirate ftp's that you need a membership and a high share to download ratio. Bad files and virus aren't tolerated and those members are usually kicked off.

Screw all that p2p crap. Bit torrent downloads are where it's at. try thepiratebay.org or mininova. The p2p sharing programs have too many people loading virus filled crap files and songs recorded from a cd player and microphone. P2P is for the kids!

Frostwire is basically a free version of Limewire Pro. I haven't had a problem yet, but I only use it when I want one song. Otherwise, I use uTorrent.
