yfz450 oil?

hey guys i just picked up an 04 yfz450. my question is what kind of oil do i put in it? theres an oil tank in the front and then on the motor. do i need to put diff oils in each? what kind of oil do you reccomend? thanks

It's the same oil... the oil from the tank runs into the motor...... I would run nothing but amsoil 10w-40 motorcycle oil.

it holds a total of 2 quarts. 1/3 of a quart goes in the left side case and 1 and 2/3 (or the rest of the oil) goes in the tank on the front. I've used the amsoil and it's good stuff, but is EXPENSIVE...it's all the same...I use Valvoline ATV 10w40 for trail and woods riding...now if ur racing then go amsoil...and use a HIFLO FILTRO oil filter...the the filter number is HF141
