View Full Version : Clutch is slipping, what to replace?

Hi, My name is Cody and i have a little clutch question to ask the wrenchers on this site. On my 400 the its like the clutch slippes when i am at the bottom of a gear and i gas it, also when i drag on roads and places were i hook up like comming out of a burm. I have adjusted my cable and all that good sutff and i decied its internal. So what is ur best gess on as whats going on in my little yellow racer? Thanks

ya u need new plates, and check your basket while your in there you make need to file it smooth again, but i dbout it on a 2001 model

i would think while your at it you should put in some heavy duty clutch springs, theyre pretty cheap arent they:confused:

God i love this site, anyways i dont know about the basket, i bought it used and the guy i bought it from won the 4b championship for harescrambles 2 years ago so shes seen her fair share of abuse, and then i do as much mx as i can so that dont help any either. well thanks for the input guys, and now its time for me to head to my thinking area (bathroom) with my dennis krik and see what we can buy instead of christmas presents for the family......a man has priorities~and mine arnt spelling.
