the4 o-ring are for the 4 cover for the valve adjustment. i observ that the kit dont have all the gasket, the honda gasket kit (kit A) is very complete and the cost is cheap, you have ALL the gasket and oring of the head, even the exhaust seal between the headers and muffler.

Thats right they are for the valve cover caps. I wouldnt replace them unless they are bad. Usually if you just coat the old ones with oil when assembling they will be fine, and you could save them for a later time eventually you'll need them.

The gasket for the valve cover is metal and is reuseable. I asked Terry (at Marcum's about this) and he told me that it is reuseable. I just put my bike together - JE 10.8:1 piston and XR cam. I would recommend getting the exhaust gaskets - $1 each from Terry at Marcum's.

Is that triangular gasket for the head pipes or the cam chain tensioner?

Is this the "416 kit" from MARUM'S?

Is MARCUM'S doing the cylinder boring for you?

I'm thinking about getting that kit over the winter with a cam (not sure which grind yet). I'm not going to touch the valves or valve springs.

Yeah it's the 416 kit from Markums. I'm using an XR400 cam. If you change your cam to even the XR400 cam, you should upgrade you valve seals. If you go to a race cam, you will need to uprgrade springs.

Your right, replacing the valve seals, at a minimum wound be a good idea. I just don't want to spend any extra $ on new valves, springs and machining work.

The XR400 cam, so far from my searches, seams to be the best cam for what I'm looking for.

I'm sure this has been asked, but I havn't been following any of the cam grind threads since I just got interested in doing the 416 kit. But why did Honda use a different cam in the 400EX from the XR400?
