Is this a sleeved down 440? I bought this to do a rebuild ahead of time to minimize my downtime, but when I went to install the GT Thunder HD studs, it looked like I was going to run the stud into the sleeve. It's been some time since I had my motor apart so I couldn't remember if this was right or from what I have heard, a sleeved down 440, which I never seen before but heard talk of it. If anyone can help me identify if this was originally a much larger size i.e. 440 426 or whatever, I'd great appreciate it. I just wanted to put the HD studs in and don't want to ruin the cylinder/sleeve.
Thanks,
Ken

Measure it's diameter. 89mm is 440

I measure the internal diameter, but the top of a sleeve has a lip on it and measuring that won't get me what I need as the bore is an 86mm. The sleeve just runs so close to the edge that it looks deceiving and its been 2 years since I replaced the piston in mine, so my memory is not the best.

If it's that close take it to a machine shop for their opinion. Most will install HD studs for about 20-30 bucks. They should fit.

Try measuring the bottom of the sleeve. There should not be a lip on that end.
