is there any way to convert a kickstart motor to a electric start motor or will and o6 or newer motoe fit on 05 frmae and does any on have a electric start motor for sale???

You can add electric start to a kickstart motor, and vise versa. Then you have the best of both worlds. I'm sure you could get an 06 motor to go in the frame, but I don't think that would be your best option.

there is a company that make an electric start for 04-05 450's but i cant remember there name it's expensive though.

That's what i was thinking of. Dirtwheels did a test on it one time way back when.

What's wrong with kickstarting it?

yeah x3 on that question. mine starts one kick damn near everytime.

If its getting hard to start, have your valves adjusted and clean the carb.

Ok heres the deal I bought this from a buddy that went to the navy and I bet this bike dont have 20 hours on it cause he nver rode it and its been setting not even started for year or two I drained the old gas put new plug in it wouldnt start with kick start so i pull started it started right up runs like a champ it has a brand new yoshis full exhaust and fci intake k&n filter but now my problem is that I ride it for prolly 15 mins shut it off then go to get back on it and it wont start?????? Whats the problem here???? and nothings wrong with kick start i love it but above is the problem help me out please????

did he rejet for his modds? is it winter where your at now and it was warmer before he left?

yeah its been jetted but yeah it winter here and he left when it was warm and i have it it setting in heated garage all day

it may need a differnt pilot jet because of the cold. some times there cold blodded like that. check your valve clearences, make sure the filter is clean. and clean the carb. it could be gunked up.

I'd hate to see someone switch to electric start to only burn starters up. If it won't fire kicking, it won't pushing the start button either. You need to find the root of the problem.

Agree'd, either mostly likely the carb needs to be cleaned/tuned or the valves adjusted.
