So picked it up two nights ago and baseline dyno tuned it last night. Dyno show bone stock 175mj vs. silencer out, snorkel off 165mj. LOL 15whp at 9k. Wow. Killer power for stock. I was blown away. Strongest by far stock bike Ive owned. More to come. Im doing a pipe shootout soon for you guys.

Conclusion is, KTM did their homework and the SX is the most powerful stock quad by far :)

A very smooth curve to with real nice torqu #'s. The DS is all over the place. Must be a high hit power with very little bottom end.

I tested an unnamed slip on also. Torque went up to 38ftlbs!!!! Ill be posting those graphs later in a pipe shootout.

50,2 horsepower is from the 505SX crankshaft or rear wheel?

On the tip of the exhaust there is a threaded silencer. Take it off.

Also on the airbox there is a snorkel on the box that points up towards the seat. Pull that out also.

That is crazy!! 8 hp by just changing the jet, and pulling the spark arrestor and snorkel!!!!!! Cant wait to see what this bad mother runs with some real mods like a pipe, cams, port etc. I wonder what the 450 is maybe 2 hp less??

Thanks,
Mike

Jet takes a big influence because the SX and XC come very lean from factory...
Pipe won't give too much hp as in Yami's and Zuki's because the exhaust of the KTM is already very good, as is the filter (twin air). But cams, ported and high comp piston yes, will be great!

Actually all I did was pull the cork and gained 8whp. Also the bike was rich not lean. I jetted from 175mj to 165mj. But didnt really change the power all that much. Both jets made same power. Just made the curve a little smoother. Pull the cork on your 505 and you got 8whp more, plain and simple. LOL

Actually the stock exhaust isnt as good as you think. The few pipes I did play with added good power. More to come for sure. The stock headpipe is the problem. No steps and is to small where it goes into the can. So there is gonna be pipes that add 3whp trust me.

Ill keep you guys posted.

I wanted to say that the stock pipe is better than what we found in the other brands stock pipes.
But lets see the results and then compare :)
