I just bought mine used and don't have the owners manual. Can someone post the oil/filter change procedure for me? Just want to make sure I don't miss anything. Thanks.

warm the quad up for about 5 minutes idlling. turn it off. take the oil FILLER cap off so it doesnt make suction and then take a 12mm socket(i think thats what it is double check before though) and take the bolt underneath the engine out. drain it.
then on the right hand side. there the oil filter. i replace it every time just cause theyre cheap and its better assurance for me. tehre WILL be about a cup of oil in there so take it off slow and make sure you havea rag or a bucket underneath there.
THEN bolt everything back up ind put in oil until you see the sight glass on the bottom left side of the engine(when sitting on it) till its about halfway fileld up. i always put a little bit over half just incase lol.

There are two bolts under the crank case. I believe one is an 8mm and the other 12mm. There will be two holes in the skid plate. Then the oil filter is on the right side of the engine, the cover has 3-8mm bolts. Make sure you change the filter and put the new one back in the correct way. Drain fluid all the way and replace the oil filter. Fill back up with oil (it says how much on the top of the crankcase near the filler hole. I believe it is 1.2 qts to start then run it a bit. Fill up the rest using the site glass 3/4 full or a small bubble at the top. Do not overfill.

thanks for the tip with the two bolts. i probably would've missed the second one. any idea why they put two drain bolts in there?

duynno but i never take the 8mm bolt out. only the 12. just have to lean it foward a tad to get the rest out. not a big deal :)

I believe one drains the crankcase and the other the trans. Although they both use the same oil there must be a divider or hump in the engine case. that the oil cannot completely drain out. Both have aluminum crush washers be very careful not to overtighten and strip the threads. They only need to be snug. The service manual says to take both out so I did.... I am sure you can lean the quad to drain the rest out but I just removed the second bolt, the FSM said to.
I also used a torque wrench to tighten the bolts as per the specs but again just be careful and don't overtighten them.

the small 8mm on the bottom strips very easy.. I only use a nut driver to take it out and to tighten it.. but i have stopped removing it because the last time it i felt it starting to strip . It dosen't leak now so i am leaving it alone..

that 8mm bolt is retarded, strips out way too easily.

I always soak the new oil filter in oil to help minimize the dry time when you start the motor after the oil change.
