Rgis has gone around before but for my riding, 60% trails, 30% MX, 10% dunes, which would be better suited for me/terrain that i ride in? Which would also cause me the least gripe in the long run?

go for the EX or Z or if you had the cash buy a dale.

Go for the 400ex, I love it for trails, and for the amount of other stuff you do, you will like it... OR ELSE... JK:D

400ex all the way for trails. I used to have a 2-stroke and will never go back (not for trails anyway)I love my 400.
