polaris sportsman grinding sound

when i go to start the machine itll start right up and run normally but lthin itll start to make a ginding sound if itll start without making the tick sound then grinding please help

it is a 98 polaris sportsman 500

i know what the problem is, it's because it's a polaris!!! git yerself a yamaha and you won't have that problem. no i really don't know wish i could help tho(you should listen to my advise)

we have a 98 335 sportsman. We had a problem with the clutch grinding on the plactic cover. I tore it apart and ground out some room with the dremel.

that not it because its only when it starts and the tic tic tic tic tic tic sound then grrrrrrrrr from the grinding
