http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

this may help, its kind of backwards but you can input the lenghts you want in red at the top and it gives you your cubes at the bottom

works really well if you know the width and height of your box and wanna find out the correct depth.. for example.. hope that makes sense

edit: oh yea it gives you a cutsheet at the bottom too

Massive. Use 1" MDF. If in an SUV, port and face sub to the rear. Use rabbit joints (interlocking). Since no specs were given I'd say 7 cubic feet and port @ 33hz. Don't cut out a terminal, run the wire through the port and tape it so it doesn't flap around. Google "subwoofer box calculator", everything on 1 page that loads fast, even for triangular ported boxes etc... What amp and vehicle? I had an 05 RE XXX 12 ported on 1500W, 2 Eclipse SW8200's sealed on 1000W, in a sunfire, both pounded but the XXX is sex ported @ 35hz :eek2: . Roll by with the windows down and people staaarreee. My car was stolen last August though. Good thing I swapped the XXX out for an Atomic APX about a week before. If I had to choose I'd rather the APX got stolen :huh . Fkin' thieves. Wanna catch me one. Or all. If it's going in a car it's going to be sealed and you should have just gotten three 12's to seal.

That doesn't look like MDF wood to me.

You should be using 3/4" MDF. Box is to small also.

I would do 5 cubic feet ported.

I agree with kickstart. The box is too small, wrong material, if the plexi is under .75 inches..it going to rattle like crazy. You'll have soooo much box noise.

Like someone mentioned before use .75inch mdf, not osb. Also i like to use dado and rabbit joints, gorilla glue the joints. I use a double layer loading board (where speaker mounts). I also use undercoat inside.

You also might want to try and use dimensions of your hatch. So it fits tight between the wheel wells. That way it won't fly/slide around in the car. Friend of mine rolled his car. Would have been all right except for the sub smashing his head.

I've also had the XXX and the 2 SW8200's in a talon on 1500W. It wasn't good. Get deadening. Use 1" MDF, 7 cuft @ 35hz. Still won't be as loud as 2 10's with 1500W though. Why an 18? Getting another? I've seen 8 12" MTX's face-up/port-up (at the rear) on something like 8000W in an acura hatch 2-door. Thing was ballin'. Sounds like a T-Rex chase. Is that MDF or particle board? :huh
