300ex head: E-3 E-4 ?????

My 2004 300ex stock head was an E-4. The replacement head I got is an E-3. Does anybody know the difference in these heads?????

Does anybody know the difference??? Anybody have a guess? Where are the pro's when you need them?????

well i know the numbers don't matter as far as mounting them goes. I had recently replaced my head, i had 2 different E- numbers on mine too... but i paid no mind to it and installed it. No problems, running great 2 months now. I dont know what they mean but as long as its a compatible year you should be ok.
