I was just trying to decide to shave my fenders..should I or not. could everybody post pics of theres shaved

It depends on the quad. Some look good shaved, some don't

omg you bought elkas for a crappy ltz250 do you have downs
at least save your money for a 450 or even a 400

Are you 100% sure you want to do that? Im not bashing you in any way, but before you know it that 250 is going to seem very small, it happened to me with my 250ex. But again, your bike, your opinion, thats all that matters.

Just throwing this out there, you should take off your plastic heal guards and kinda shave your rear fenders to kinda look like 450 rear plastic, i think that would look sick, but thats just my opinion. But she is lookin' good, good job.

wow, that deff. looks different. i never seen a 250 with that many mods. looks like it could be a 450 from the back. LOLz

i deff. say make the jump to a 450 though. you'll appreceate the longer arms (theyre still 46'' on most, but the rails are closer making a longer arm possible) and better suspension. Elkas help on a Z250, but more time is put into the 450's off the show room floor, most wont even need an Elka. most of all, you will have all the power in the world.

i was going to post a pic of my cut YFZ but seems u got it figured out.

bro, chill, the 450's these days have suspension so good most wont need an aftermarket shock, unless they want to make a statement, or are really fast enough for one. 250 riders kinda need a better shock for motocross because they are tuned for trails. have you ever seen an Ozark and Z250 with the plastic off? looks identical huh? now howz about a 250EX and a Recon 250... same quad right? minus the clutch.

the only 250 in the right direction is the Raptor 250, and the SE has piggybacks already. now all it needs is a liquid cooled DOHC motor with a 4 valve head, or the YFZ's 5 valve.

those elkas are more of a statement and a handeling improvement than a 450 killer mod.

thanks guys but i just got a z400 with some mods...and now i found a ltr450 i think im going to trade the 250 to but i can tell a big diffrence in the 400

bro, im telling you right now to stay away from the LT-R unless you absolutly love blown transmissions. i had a 2008 and blew thrid gear within a few months of owning.

do youreself a favor and buy a carburated YFZ or a TRX450R. Fuelinjection is a pain in youre @$$ h0le to tune.

if youre doing MX like me and hitting moderate sised jumps like 70-90 feet you want a reliable quad.

if your getting a 450 ONLY get efi its new technogoly everyone is switchng to it except honda and ktm. honda hasnt changed for years. i think the best 450 for the money is kfx450r or ltr 450. with the ltr just puy atp billet 3rd gear and your set to go. the new yfz450r also rips. with the way technology is moving i would only go with efi because technology will only advance and get better and the have a carb will really suck when theres better stuff then efi

thats what i thaught untill i actually owned EFI. the EFI that you are thinking about is a closed circuit system found in cars and trucks, that will compensate for elevetion, air densety and atmospheric pressure. the EFI of quads is from the caveman days, and wont hardly adjust, so little that the range that a given sise main jet cam properly function in is greater than the EFI they put on ATV's. jets are cheaper, carbs are reliable and easy to tune, compared to the expensive tuners and extra electrical components that add weight to youre bike.

i tried both, and got all of my information about EFI vs Carb through various tuners and trusted sites. when a magazine says EFI is the way to go, they are just helping the manufacures dish out a few more units because most of the market doesnt know any better.

you are right about technology advancing, but you have to take one step back to go two foreward. right now the carb is still better overall then an FI system, untill they can put in a closed circuit EFI system with a REAL MAF and exhause o2 meter then EFI 'll be the way to go.

heres just a fun fact to chew on aswell, the Team Media all stars uses LT-R's. and they have ATP built motors and ATP carburator conversion kits on them aswell.

do what you will with my post, if you still want EFI, go nuts. i just posted my two cents as an option for everyone to see so there is really no need to make a snappy comeback and pi$$ in someone elses cerial.

if you got some information about EFI however and it bringing better tech, like the PC V and the 02 sensor on pat's race YFZ, id be happy to hear it.

Hear is the deal i love to race with my front fenders shaved but if you ever need to sell the ATV its going to be tuff, the average Joe cant stand cut fenders and you will have to replace them or take a big cut on your price. But you only live once.:blah:

if you know how to cut youre fenders and make it lok good, the average joe buyer will love it.

my LT-R was almost race ready with a sexy fender trim like Chad weinins and it sold within a matter of days, everyone who came to see it had never saw a fender cut in person and loved to check it out.

if its a lame cut that isnt polished with bumps and un even edges they wont like it.
