Hey guys, I like bottom end power. I want to buy a stock bore high comp. piston and cam. What cam would you suggest? I don't wanna replace rockers and springs etc..
What compression should I run to stay on Premium or Super unleaded from the pump?
Remember I am looking for bottom end, and RELIABILITY .

I don't know if I want to go with a hotcam or the xr 400 cam though. I know you'll recommend the hotcam just looking at alternatives.

i think you will se more with hotcam stage 1 than a xr, and its cheaper, a little at least

You can prolly even do an 11:1 like I am and still run pump,, cause your gasket will make the compression a hair lower,,, But when I get mine done I will update everyone about it..

Get ya a TC racing XC cam,,they run about $180 and there drop in'

Thanks guys I will prolly end up w/ the hotcam stage 1 because it's cheaper. But I'll look at the TC cam if I can spring the extra $$ for it. Does anyone know the specs on it?

I would also get the TC Cam. It will be better then the other's mentioned and have the bottom end you are wanting. I will be getting that Cam for my 400 when I get the money. Tom doesn't give the spec's out for his Cams so nobody copies them.

Hey guys,,,

Even though i have the hot-cams one for sale....I would buy the TC cam...spring for the coin and get it....

Now that 12.5 :1 Je and race gas... i will argue..

The 12.5:1 with Race Gas would be an awesome setup, but you have to think about updating some of your other motor parts if you want that high of a compression. Your best bet is to talk to Tom or any Engine Builder.
