you got alot f the money now or you going to slowly mod it cause if you are gonna doo it all at once with alot of money go with the blaze or one of the dcale lineup its prolly on of the better deals and once you got the quad there isnt all that much you have to do to it. Just maybe widen it ect just body stuff.
If you are gonna have to do it slowly because of the money flow id say go with either the 400ex or z400 both have there strongpoint i gues it would be your call thouhg

I want to do it all at once. I would like to buy all my parts and build the bike in one week or less.

Look forward to the upcoming 400ex XC quad project, which will be built using all aftermarket products from the ground up :D

You probably want shocks first,,then belly and swingarm skids. good handlebars won't hurt either. How much cash ya plan on spending???

Ide say u already got a good machine to work with. Both will work awesome if u get them setup. Some good shocks, reinforce the frames, skids, tires and rims, GRIPPER SEAT, and after that work on the motor. That will get u a good enough machine to compete in almost any class.

Where abouts are you located in Ohio?

There is a D-11 race this sunday (Dec. 22) at Honda Hills. You might want to come check it out so you can see what the hot set-ups are and how the race works.

Jeff @ the quadshop can hook you up on a good deal on most if not all these parts:
Shocks
Steering damper
larger gas tank
Beadlock rims
Holeshots or Razors
Kill switch
Skid plate
Bigger front bumper
Larger grab bar (keeps guys from destroying silencer)
Pipe and Silencer
Rev Limiter box
Fatty style handle bars
Maybe a 440 kit with cam, larger valves, some head work, port and polish and modified carb.

I've used my muscle dampner/denton and it's lasted 2 years of riding and racing both MX and XC..quadshop has them too..:D Do want there number???:macho

Yeah i also used the Denton rebuildable for about 2 years. Its bent now, but i guess 4th gear pinned across a field and clipping a small stump will do that:o

Have you tried the PEP rebuildable one?? I have wanted to try it as I have worn out several Denton ones on my MX bike.

YLW, you do know who's quad that is, don't you? If not not, look real close at the number on it for a hint. If its good enough for him, then its way too nice for the rest of us speed bumps ;)

I think that one is the that Bill raced at Florida last year and then it was stolen. If that's the case it was Bill's quad now it's a low life scum that stole it along with his practice bike and Johnny G's quad.

Depending on cash amount you have in yo pocket...Elka, Axis, Pep are gonna be your best bet.. call up the quadshop and talk with Jeff,,he's got about 14 years of XC experience,,he'll take good care of ya.

I think I might try the Elka shocks.

Do I need to modify the engine or will the stock engine be fine for XC - I am not looking to win, just have fun.

If you are just looking to have fun, pickup a 250ex and race in the sport class. If you really want to race, any of the available new 4-strokes (Z400,Predator,400ex etc..) would be great with new tires and suspension mods.
