YFZ or TRX???

I'm lookin into buyin a 450... I have found a 04 Yamaha "Special Edition" with a few bolt ons, and a 06 Honda thats pretty stock for the same price. What are your thoughts of what to buy??? I do alot of trails though plan on a little racin here n there.

only good yamaha's are 06+ and it seems a majority of the Honda people only like the 04/05's, so i would try and find one of those.

honda for a few reasons:

1.) 2 years newer
2.) stock so you can build it the way you want
3.) honda reliability

Honestly, you need to post this in a more broader-viewed forum. This whole site was based on honda and the majority on here is still honda. Basically it's a honda biased site.

My opinion, between the two you mentioned, I would get the 450r. Only because the year. The 04 yamaha's had their fair share of problems. They got much more reliable in 06.

If it was between and 06 YFZ and 06 450r, I would go with the YFZ.

word. This site used to be called "exriderS" and was about 99.9% Honda, and still is basically. Out of those 2 choices I'd go with the Honda tho, just bc the seats on the 04/05 YFZ suck.

Had a 2006 YFZ and I would recomend not buying one. It just felt so uncomfortable

I didn't like the YFZ when I first rode it. But after I was on it for a while I got used to it and loved it.
The seating takes a while to get used to but now I like the seating more then my 400ex.

450r since its newer. but if the yfz was an 06 or up i'd go yammi :cool:

This summer I rode my friends two quads,; 1 06 YFZ with PEP Limited Mass shocks and his 05 TRX450R with PEP Limited Mass shocks. Both set up for XC.

I could not believe how much more "natural" the rider position and confidence the Honda gave. I have owned both, both are great quads but the Yamaha beats you up more but they also steer like its they are on rails. Where as the Honda has a "lighter" front end.

I personally would go Honda

i say honda. I personally never have worked on a yami but they look like they have a 1000 things going just on the outside of the motor. Not for me.

Comfortable, reliable, EASY to get power out of, IMO best handling quad when fully modded

Haha this isnt the best place to put this poll, im sure if you posted it on yfzcentral it would be all yamaha.

get some seat time on both quads and make your desicion, remeber your the one that has to live with your desicion not people on the honda site.
