alright today i was ridin and i noticed my chain was rattelin around quite a bit, after i was done washing it i put it on my stand and compressed the shock, i started it up, put it in gear and while it was spinnen the chain was jumpin around a bit. i looked at the sprocket and it was wobbling, took off the sprocket and the billet hub lsr gives you was wobbling, the main reason i am asking you is can i put my stock hub on, also i am gettin a sprocket and chain, i am gonna get a sprocket and i want to go maybe 5 mph to 10 mph faster, what would be the best combos, and what kind of chain should i get that will not stretch

Nope call LSR and get a new Sprocket hub or send the axle to them and have it replaced.

I am not sure you can probably call them but i believe only the axle carries a warranty not the sprocket hub.

thanks ill call them, its to late now, i noticed the hub was bent, so i dont know, will the stock one work

I am not sure if a stock one will, They say you can put that hub on a stock or Axcalibar axle but i dont know i one part fits both or if there are two different hubs on for stock and another for there axle.

Only the axle is under the warranty!

For $109.00 they will replace the sprocket hub.

This is as of a month ago.

I have had the same LSR axle now for 2+ years and have never had a problem with it.

how do you go about getting a new axle with exchange of a bent one from lonestar?? do you need a receipt? i tried to look on their website, and couldn't find any kind of warrant information..

ss440ex

Call them they will give you a item number/customer number.

You send them the axle(Arizona) with the warranty card or a reciept.

Good luck.

The sprocket hubs do get play in them in a very short time.

I`ve run one that way now for four years!

Me too SS.Rediculous the money u spend for an axle and the hub gets play in it in no time. Then its over $100 on top of the cost of the axle to fix.Ive run stock axles and never had a hub get play in them.Buy a LSR and in no time it got play.Mine been this way for a while i just make sure to keep my carrier as tight as i can and always check it.When it strips it will go in the garbage and ill try something else.My Durablue never got play on my ancient Quadracer250...:grr: Not 2 mention the play i have in my LSR stem....

I have the same 2 problems and agree about throwing the axle in the trash.

The hub should be warrantied too.Costs us enough money.....Just dont understand why a stocker outlast a supposed to be high quality race axle.Just like a Hyundai with a warranty but drops trannies every 30k...LMAO

Mine did the same thing. That is why I now run a RPM with race hub, no issues!

01-10-2009, 08:13 PM
I no longer use lsr axles due to that problem along with bending. I will only use an RPM Dominator 2 axle with the race hub. the RPM Race hub will never wobble out like an lsr will. If anyone needs an RPM axle Lewis MX ATV's will give you a better deal than you can find on ebay. Give John at Lewis MX ATV's a call for a price. 315-625-7404

yea it seems that everyone with LSR axles have sprocket hub problems. RPM, i have never heard of one mistake. I just run a stock axle.

06 Honda 450R
01-10-2009, 08:47 PM
alright today i tried taking off my stock hub, i beat and beat and it wouldnt even budge, can you tell me what i needed to do, i took oft the c clip on the outside of the axle, is the lsr one hard to take off too

now i have a junk ruined axle when i could have had a good one in the first place if the hub didnt mess up,

when i was lookin at the lsr hub i noticed that almost all of the things that the sprocket bolts to were bent, do you think i should try bending them back, or should i get a new hub, if so which one

Dave400ex
01-10-2009, 08:54 PM
The sprocket hubs have to be pressed on/off. The stocker isn't really made to come off...

06 Honda 450R
01-10-2009, 09:08 PM
could i not hammer it on and off, is it a big pain, could i bend the lsr one

ss440ex
01-10-2009, 09:22 PM
The hub has to be pressed off towards the R/H side I believe.

Press it off over towards the axle nut.

Good luck, Try useing some penetrate spray.

06 Honda 450R
01-10-2009, 09:33 PM
... i did, it didnt really work

ss440ex
01-10-2009, 09:48 PM
Should have moved,
Are ya useing a press?

Check out my daughters LSR broken axle display I made her.

06 Honda 450R
01-10-2009, 10:03 PM
no i didnt, hey, wouldnt you press it toward the c clip cause that is what i did, the c clip is on tha left side of the axle

ss440ex
01-10-2009, 10:04 PM
Wrong direction!!!

Move the hub away from the snap ring.

Dave400ex
01-10-2009, 10:16 PM
If you are looking at the axle from behind it needs to go to the right, towards the axle locknut. I wouldn't even mess with using a hammer, you will need a press.

06 Honda 450R
01-10-2009, 10:16 PM
so toward the swing arm if it was mounted, well i guess i just effed up my axle, well i could have got it usin a hammer, it was kinda goin, this other guywas helpin me and we both thought it would go toward the place where the clip was... there goes a 100 bucks, at least i wont mess up my good axle, will other brand hubs work on the lsr

GIXXER1KR
01-11-2009, 12:08 PM
If u can afford to junk the piece of chit LSR and never buy there product again.Get a RPM or u can send out your LSR and get it fixed. After shipping and there cost its not worth it in my opinion to have another wobbly axle in a few months.Surprised no one from LSR has chimed in here to back there junk. LSR = Loose Sh...y Racing...

I have had LSR axles on many of my bikes and never an issue.. you said the hub was bent.. that is not Lonestars fault if you hit something .. I would also double check maintence and make sure that you check you antifade and keep it tight.. if you keep it tight it would not have allot of room to move around on...IMO.. I think blame may being placed on the wrong area in this.

So possible user error but i just hear it way too much about the LSR axle and the steering stem play.I do keep everything tight and after all the years i only had 1 brand get play in it and guess who made it...

no i have never wrecked mine never ran into anything, i have not hit anything, i have exactly 10 hours on it, i also checked the axle nut after every ride, kept it snug but not to tight

Any one else have trouble with the LSR antifade not staying tight? I personally am sick of having to tape mine to keep it from comin loose. All my friends have different lock nuts and Theyre all " No tape required". Looks like for the money This stuff should work better. But no complaints about the axel itself. Shes been through 3 frames now and no bends or breaks. Watch it snap tommorrow. lol

I replaced my LSR sprocket hub before because it came loose in a few months. Pressed old one off, pressed new one on.

It didn't the 5 months I had it after the new one was put on, but then I sold it and got an RPM.

I emailed LSR and told them about the problem. I also sent them a link to this thread. Here is the response I got.

The sprocket hubs are covered under a 1 year warranty so if your hub gets play in it within that year all you have to do is call us get an ra # and send it back and we will replace it for you. The only people I have noticed that have problems with these hubs are guys that run xc style racing. I have them on my personal quads and they are a few years old and mine have no play in them. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

I've had a used lonestar axle onmy 416ex for a few years not a problem. I got it from a guy that siad it kept coming loose. I watched him ride once. He bounces off everything. He is really rough on things.

I told him to use locktite on his antifade He swore it wont help. I put it on my 416 over years ago and I've only took it off once to replace axle bearings just for maintinence. The old bearings were fine.

On my 450r I put a cheap g-force axle on it. I had issues with that antifade till I put the stock one back on my R. With blue locktite I've never seen it come loose again.

I almost used red locktite on the g-force antifade, but I figured using heat later to break it loose may cause me to need to replace bearings seals. I then decided to put the stock antifade on with blue loctite just to see how it goes, been over a year now.

Granted I had a few surgeries this year so I dont have that much seat time. I konw for a fact I have 60+ hours on it since I loctited the stock antifade. Try that if your having that kind of luck.

If you a rough rider, not saying its bad, just means you have to check things more often than the guy that doesn't bounce off everything on the trails.

I know this has nothing to do with the sproket hub, but many have had there axle's come loose is why I said this. I've yet to see one wobble that wasn't hit when riding.

The nut on the axle has nothing to do with the sprocket hub.

I've got a stock hub on my LSR. It took all of my 20 ton press to break it loose off the stock axle. You won't get it off with a hammer of any size.

not trying to thread still just didnt wanna start another lsr thread, but ive noticed both wheel hubs has a little bit of wobble even with the hub nuts tight, is this the hubs or the spins on the axle? the axle is a little over 2 years old factory 04 hubs. anyone else had this problem?

The problem is probably the spacers. Do you have 2 spacers on each side, a long one and a short one, or do you have 3 on each side the same size?
If you have 2, a long and a short, they are the first generation spacers. They squish. I had the same problem. I had to buy the newer ones and it fixed my problem.
What kills me about Lonestar is they know their product in defective/infearier but they make you but the fix. I personally will never buy another Lonestar part and will try to stop others from doing so.
