I have a 300ex but i also have a 400ex clutch assembly. will the 400ex clutch assembly fit on the 300ex motor?

The 400ex's clutch plates have 12 pegs that go in the clutch basket and the 300's only have 10. The whole 400ex clutch assy. is different from the 300 but im not sure if it would fit... my guess is that the imput shaft that the clutch is on is bigger on theh 400ex... I'd check with a honda dealer.
