I am sure some of you have put FCR carbs on your 04-05 trx450r's

I put one on mine over the hollidays and cant seem to get it running correctly

idles a little rough, pops in the midrange

here is waht I have :

05 trx450r, full LRD exhaust, white bros rev box, K&N filter no airbox lid, titanium valves, HRC cam, motor is fresh 30hrs or so since full rebuild (running at sea level)

old carb set up :
stock 05 carb, HRC needle 6th clip,50 pilot,190 main,air screw 1.75 turns out.
ran good

New carb setup:
04 CRF FCR carb, all nessary adaptors to mount, boyson quick shot,GFP needle (LRD's needle),162 main,45 pilot, air screw 1.75 turns out

the TPS on the FCR has a block off plate (I thought this may be a proublem but the edelbrock carbs dont run a TPS and the instructions say to tape the harness plug off)

any tips or ideas ?

I would try a 42 pilot. If you don't have one, try turning your airscrew all the way in and let us know if it gets better or worse.

I would also return the clip on the needle to the middle position.

i know that when i put my fcr on, it needed a way bigger main than what i expected. if you think about it, the stock carb is 42mm where the fcr is a 40mm.... mine has a 190 main, 45 pilot (i think), 4th clip on needle (i think), and i changed my leak jet to a 45 (i think) lol. but you get the idea. Im at sea level
