Who will be riding PRO in the Nationals in 2009? We know the top guys, but what about the fast guys that need a team with factory support and technical support to put them over the top...
Or better yet, who are the top pro-am guys who need a break to go fast in the pro class?

Any young pro's not with a team?

Hahaha I wouldn't plan on seeing joe byrd helping holmes out if he starts beating joe.. And if that happens then someone will pick him up...

if he did start beating bryd youw ould think byrd would use it as some kind of publicity but i doubt that

If i was out looking to sponser a fast young rider my first pick would be randy lehr. give him a dependable ride and he'd spank a lot of guys.

i second that his is wicked fast. and is in need of a solid bike ( not putting down his ride now, you can just tell that its not the very best of everything) but does he have enough points to turn pro cause i thought you needed a certain amount from the pro-am to make the jump up?

bahahahaha, he needs alot more than a good mechanic. Little riding abilities would help alot. About 7 or 8 more years in C class, then see where he is at.

He is like 18, he "attempts" to run Pro. He puts everyone in danger because he is so stupid, gets in the way, and has no idea whats going on. He is usually lapped by everyone by the end of the 2nd lap haha.
He came up to a local race once, they staggared the B class behind us (the A class). Everyone in A class lapped him and everyone in B class passed him too.

he raced national pro class in 07 and got waxed. but yeah he was a "pro." and national #12 was what he finished in the series, not his actual riding number. he's like number 542 or somethin

Just thought I would give the folks that chimmed in for Randy a big THANK YOU for your support for Randy. We don't have lots of money and the big rigs that the other racers come to the races in.
Unfortunately no one has steped up to help us out. We are in Florida trying to get ready for the 09 racing season. Randy has got to ride with a lot of the top pro riders and he is very fast with them. I can't belive that Randy is able to keep up with these riders with his beat up prictice quad. Lots of people comment on how fast he is, but still no support. If we don't get some sort of help we will be headed back home with little hope of running the 09 season. If any one knows of someone that would like to help out please send them our way. This is a tough sport and everyone that races knows what how hard it is to make the right connections. We just need that little support that never seems to come our way. Thanks again for your support.

I agree, the guy is full of talent, and from what I hear has a big heart as well. I do not know him personaly but I do know he is a great rider that deserves a shot from a good team.
To be honest with you all I do not believe that Mr.Randy Lehr deserves to go anywhere. I think that he is very ignorant and should not be given anything.

Well it seems funny, that your first post is bashing randy lehr, almost like you signed up to a forum just to bash someone. Just cuz he probably spanked you on a mx track is no reason to hold grudges:p . Everytime i have been around randy at a track he is more than friendly with anyone around..

My kid has talked to him at d6 races & just saw him about three weeks ago i believe at Wald, Fla. Always treats him nice & talk about racing, some people make to much of local guys who are making it or have made it in racing, & are jealous. As you get better & sponsored, you cant hang out or talk to some of the people u used to be able to. Some racers consider these better riders are dirty now too, since they have learned & honed there tricks of the trades. And some racers parents are just plain *****es & give the kids the bad rap. I have to disagree about him being arrogant, I wish him all the help & luck,
Ken
Randy is a hell of a guy! Ive never met him before, ive seen him at some of the nationals but ive talked to him through AIM, Myspace, and texting and hes a good guy and easy to get along with! He deffinitely deserves a full sponsor, hes fast as hell!

I don't know where that guy got his info... But Randy is a Great person and I have seen his beat Jason aka DUNK on many tracks!! And he did it with half the machine!!
Randy Lehr is a Pro Rider that just can't seem to catch a break!!
I work at a couple of tracks and help out with District 6 as much as I can... I have seen this guy blow past a couple of Pro Racers with all the money!! Just think what he could do with the right machine?? He already has the talent and skills to win... Now he just needs the support!!
Randy Lehr would be my #1 choice
This kid is going places!!
Do yourself a favor and Hook Him Up!! You will not be dissapointed!!
I have seen how he helps out the kids by watching them race and telling them what they could do to be a little faster. He would help his fellow riders if there was anything he could do!!
And as a crowd pleaser.... He is second to none!!
Go with Randy Lehr #110
He will represent like nobody else!!

ill tell you guys, Randy is a very good freind of mine and is not ignorant in any way. very freindly, there are so many little kids at the local races and amire him! he treats them like their his brothers! hes extremely fast, and with loads of experince, he has been racing as long as ive been alive! Randy runs with the factory backed bikes and hes on quads that arent even close to the same level!

well i am at waldo right now and josh creamer and pat brown havent been here in atleast two weeks if not more. i dont believe he has the speed to keep up with creamer or brown but if he does then i dont understand why he doesnt go pro? everyone is picking creamer to win or finish in the top 3 at glen helen so that means randy would win a pro championship and get his factory ride he wants?

Your buddy was comparing Randy to somebody other than Josh Creamer. So now, how do you even know it was Randy? Pro rider Josh Creamer was in California March 1st and 2nd racing the 2nd WORCS race. Creamer had to start in Row 2 since he didn't race in the 1st event and get any points. He made it to 4th place and then his quad quit on the 3rd lap.
By the way, Weinen raced in the 1st race in Arizona. He had the fastest lap time before his quad quit on the 2nd lap. Kawi better figure out how to keep these quads running or it will be a long season.
Gust and Wimmer were there too but just practiced with the pros on Friday.

Hopefully "everyone" isn't overlooking the fact that both Creamer and Wienen each bowed out of the WORCS race they entered. Considering there was ~5 weeks between the races, I wonder what the deal is. Hopefully they get them ready for the ATVA series.

i mean cause i much as ive heard that he is terrible ive also seen people talking about how good he is. The true story on Alex, is he raced in the pro class in 2007, where he finished the series in 12th place over all, he was as high as sixth, in the standings, but got hurt with 5 rounds to go, and only dropped out of the top 10 at the last national at lorettas. He has spent the 08 season comming back from a broken femur and back, and will be back in 09. he was by far not the fastest, or slowest pro on the track, and when all of the pros were there, he was usually mid pack. As far as the KTM talk, the entire Kids on Quads team, had been talking to Kurt Nichole, head of KTM,since their quad came out. even though it didn't come about, what he was saying was true. As far as Alex personally, I know he has been instrumental in helping the michigan youth riders for the last 4-5 years, helping riders like Alex Szymborski, become a numerous time national mini champion. So to the guys that seem to take great pleasure in bashing Alex, the only thing I can figure out is you are jealous, or just plain stupid.

Hope so. I hate to see the level of competition drop because of mechanical failures. I can see your point if this were a 1st year quad; however, I think these Kawis should be rock solid by now. For now, I am going to remain a skeptic until I see these 2 guys finish 2 motos each for at least the 1st 3 rounds of the season. Maybe they are still testing and the ones they were racing at WORCS were pushing the edge too much.

Yes, I bash on Alex because he is not a Pro, or even close to it, but he is very ignorant and thinks is ***** dont stink. Jealous? NO way, i've raced against him multiple times and he was never even close. Not even on the same section of the track. Take it for what it is.

So to the guys that seem to take great pleasure in bashing Alex, the only thing I can figure out is you are jealous, or just plain stupid. what are you his brother or something? that kids the biggest joke to ever enter the pro class at any sanctioned race ever. I watched him case larocos leap at redbud this year...he pulled off the track because he said he hurt his leg, CASING THE TRIPPLE...are you kidding me? in 07 he raced a local and they dropped a and b class together, he entered A and i entered B, they did staggered starts, i passed and walked away from him like he wasnt even there. Bottom line, hes dangerous to not only himself but everyone else on the track.
heres a picture of him being LAPPED by jones, which happened at every race he entered.

and alex himself doesnt do jack for kids on quads. his dad does.
your right though, i am jealous...i wish i had it as easy as he does.

NO way, i've raced against him multiple times and he was never even close. Not even on the same section of the track. Take it for what it is. only a jealous or stupid person would make that kind of remark, what national class do you run, I know it must be the d class for dumb, only someone with that much contempt for a rider in the same sport, would make those remarks, about a rider from 2 years ago, because that was when he was healthy last. Do you think he might have improved since then? we will see.

Im not getting into a pissing match but you trying to defend him is pointless. It has been proving over and over he is not only the slowest pro rider but also pro am.
http://www.escoremx.com/2008atvmotocrossresults/laptimes.asp?s=1&c=96&pc=96&e=11&rn=2&rt=M
Here is where he "qualified" in proam prod because everybody in the consi qualified. His fastest lap is 8 seconds slower that the next slower person in the class.
HIS IS 24 SECONDS SLOWER A LAP THAN THOMAS BROWN..
Explain this one?
The best one is when he came to alabama last year with his "kawi support ride" and said he was gonna tromp stomp everybody.. He couldnt stomp the Production C class, and thats the truth.

We have been watching Alex since he started, and he does not have it easy. He works for what he gets.

Yeah I do too. The thing I'm saying though is the first few races, the teams are seeing how far they can push the motors before they fail. Their trying to get every last pony out without killing it. Basically trying to find a happy medium.

haha. Zach Harris.. I ran both last year but had bad luck and ran into money issues after a bad crash at illinois. then switched to suzukis in july and started getting ready for this year..
I should be at alabama, last year i went there and was not in shape at all. sunday in pro am prod. I was running 3rd in my heat for the first 3 laps then fell back to 9th and almost passed out after i got off the track.. Missed qualifying by one spot on saturday out of 49 guys in the unlimited class..
I just started riding here in northren illinois, first time in 2months when i got back from staying with the walsh's. so 75% ill be at alabama, but I might just start at kentucky so i can make sure im 100%.. College sux, cant go down south!

I'm sticking with b class for now. I entered B last year at Ballance and posted the 2nd fastest laptime out of all the B riders, and thats with battling through the pack cuz of a pile up in the holeshot. i would be in A but a weekend of Virginia, I raced a local race because it was my birthday and ended up breaking the scaphoid bone in my left wrist (basically the ball bearing that your wrist rotates on). I have only ridden 3 times since last april, I just got out of my cast 3 weeks ago and have been workin my butt off in the gym. Still too cold to ride...if I go to Alabama and win, I'll be debating if I wanna go for a B class championship or take mmy whips and see how I do in A. Wrist still hurts though, so we'll see.
I train with brandon jones and will be riding with him to the nats probably, if you know who that is.

Are you smoking crack. He raced when everyone but Lawson, Byrd, and Brown were the only real pro's there. And still got his *** handed to him by other people that still can't make the real pro class. Like Chris Tait for example. I said that he wouldn't qualify for a single pro gate to his face that year, talking about when the real pro's show up and guess who was right. He doesn't deserve to put pro anywhere near his name, that is something pretty sacred in the racing community.

This is exactualy the reason quads are stuck where we are, we out number the dirt bikers, but they will always be ahead of us because of this kind of stupidity. When I first mentioned Alex's name it was in response to some one asking to help out a rider and share expenses, I said quite plainly he was going to be riding pro-am and a few guys that are from his own district that don't, by their admission, like him, and are jealous of him, start sling a bunch of bull. never thinking that they were not just hurting Alex, but his sponsores, and his family, who I know his dad has done more for quad racing in michigan then all of these idiots combined ever will. The reason that I say we will never catch the dirt bikes is they would never spend 4 pages on a public forum bashing one of their own young privateer riders, that is trying to make his dream a reality, they would help him, and leave their petty differences behind. I am done on this subject, because by arguing with fools just brings me down to their level.

Oh and.... hes on a pretty much stock quad(waitin for race bike) and his jump off th egate was good but everyone owuld pull him off the start, cuz everyone has tons of money into their motors... but... if you look at the lap times, all of his laps were ****ty, but he did pull a 1:43 which is good enough for top4 in production B... And that wasn't even a clear lap too. yes you have to learn how to pass, but once ur in the back, its hard, and to still manage half decent laps, id say he did okay. Oh and did i mention, 3rd time riding in a year off a broken wrist?

This is getting to be pretty entertaining actually. It doesnt seem like anyone is taking this thread serious except for national #9...
But if your bashing Shawn, did Alex race and what were his results like? Just being curious and fair

well im an acctual national B-class and 16-24 rider. justin farmer #17 tried to qualify for pro-am production and below is the qualifing sheet, notice trompen in last, over 3 seconds behind justin farmer. justin farmer happend to race college boy class also and i beat him, and trompen is over 3 seconds slower than him
