look at walsh's kit, www.walshrc.com and Lonestar's kit, www.lsracing.com

Both of them have very good kits and pics on their websites.

We made our own for mine. not hard at all. If you know someone that you'd trust to weld them in.

I would lean more towards the Teixeira and LSR kits. If you know how to Tig weld well then Tig it, looks so much better....

the bare kit is good for the money but what i dont like is that it doesnt have the overtubing above the upper motor mounts like the LSR, Walsh, JB ect.. i had a bare kit installed and not too long after had a large crack right above the motor mount.

One more a close up of the color. This is also the picture some ebay seller use that Bare Performance gave them. Stolen from me of course.

I had the same problem 6 months after the kit was installed. My frame was broken completely in half on one side and more then half way through on the other. I took a piece of 1" tubing about a foot long and split it down the middle. Then I welded it on either side. That was 3 years ago. so far so good.

I wished I would have taken some pictures of the LSR kit pappy installed for me before I put it together. Only problem I had was I had to grind part of my front fender mounts off. It's a nice kit though.

Here's the LSR kit for the upper engine mount and subframe. I got longer bolts so I could put a washer and locknut on the inside.

It's on both sides, one side has a kink in it.

i realized that after i posted , i guess the kink is for the kick start?

is it common for the frame to break there?

I assume its for the kicker. I think it helps a lot more with sub frame bolts shearing off. It is a common problem with MX bikes.

have the lsr kit and Pappy did a great job welding it in...I still broke the frame in other spots so I had a local guy do this. Not as clean as Pappy but it has been effective. If it holds up, I will tear it down again, shave some of the gusset and then have it powdercoated.

the other side. This was originally like the left side but the engine wouldn't fit in. I had to mark it and have him use the plasma cutter on it again...

also added a steel plate between the front shocks... it is button welded in 4 spots too.

I'll feel sorry for you whenever you have to replace you clutch basket. It doesn't look like you will be able to get the side cover off without taking the motor out of the frame.

Six of one...pulling the motor out is easier than fixing the frame again. I just hope these gussets fix the issue.

I did snap a footpeg off so we are getting closer to my bones snapping instead of the quad. :eek2:

Is there any need to reinforce the bottom motor mounts? on my 400ex i remember i broke one side clean off and when i gusseted it i doubled the mount up. Has anyone had this problem on the 450?

Ive seen a few crack and more crack or break at the actual hole. Most of this is caused after a rebuild where the person doesnt re-check the engine mount bolts.

I hear ya Pappy. I am still living with old fatigued parts. The day I broke the peg I wasn't landing anything short. I did come up short on a triple though after I had the peg rewelded. If it was going to break, it would have. :eek2: The other peg is showing signs of cracking at the weld anytime too. I have new 2 pegs on order.

All of my lower engine mounts are doubled up now. I am fanatical about using a torque wrench too so I know nothing came loose in my case. I just think the more you try to make sure the frame doesn't flex at all the more you are causing problems. There is a reason why bridges move. :p

ive had better luck without running a gusset kit. last year i had the bare gusset kit and i just snapped my frame at the end of every gusset, the 2 top rails by the motor mounts, the bar that goes across the middle of the frame where it says bare broke clean off, 2 lower motor mount tabs broke off, and the left side where the foot peg mounts. this year i didnt run a gusset kit and only had 1 tiny crack by an upper motor mount

No cracks for my 2006 frame in 2006 and 2007. All my problems started in June this year...2.5 yrs on the stock frame.

how often does a stock non gusseted frame crack for mx? I havent gusseted mine yet and was curious if i should. heard they can make a frame weaker, cuz it doesnt allow a frame to flex.

Wow some of these frames are way over gusseted in my opinion.

I just pick up a new frame for my 450r. If you mig weld the guess it on make sure you not running the welder to hot.

FYI If the weld is shinny then your at the right amps

If the weld has a brown color to it then you running your welder to hot
