check out www.cernicsracing.com i know they have them. not too sure on the difficulty of install, cant imagine it would be too bad

yoshimura makes the kit, cernics sells them and probably has them in stock, just give kyle a call and he can answer all your questions, installation isnt too bad if you know what your doing when you tear the motor apart, if you have never torn a motor down before then your going to want to have somebody install it for you that knows what your doing

oh and i almost forgot, i hear yosh is redesigning their kickstart kit and will be released sometime in February, so you might want to call them and check and see what they say, idk if this is true or not just a rumor i heard

No body has them right now you cant buy them unless you find someone wanting to sell theres.I have 2 new ones trying decide if i am going to use them. They arent hard to install but you will need the correct pim or a kit from atp to run the pc3 before it will work.My 06 run with a cherry bomb for a little while then wouldnt start.I put the correct pim in and it fired right up

why do you have to change the mapping to put a kicker on??? your not going into the motor as far as performance are you. i know you take off your starter and electrical components but why do you have to adjust the map?

I would personally be cautious with the Yoshimura kickstarters. My cousin had a stage 3 motor kit put in his LTR with the kickstart and he didn't have it that long and one day he kicked it and it recoiled up past the stop point and snapped his cases. We sent it back to Yoshi and they said it was a design flaw in the kickstart kit. They did say they were redesigning it and re-releasing it in February, but when they rebuilt my cuz's motor they said they would have to take out the kickstarter and replace it with an electric starter.

^^^^Same thing happened to my friend at a race. Tried to kick it over and the kicker came back and did a 360, and snapped his case.

they must be giving it gas when they kick it. the 450r honda and my ltr will pop back at you if you give it gas when you kick it over. if you don't they return smoothly not hard.

Why not just use all the kick start components from the RMZ450 dirt bike?

Because the motor in the LTR is BASED on the RMZ. The LTR was designed just a little differently so parts aren't compatible from one model to another. I'm switching from a YFZ to an LTR this year and I honestly prefer the e-start. In a couple of my last races it was really hot and my motor got overheated and stalled and that magic button saved me. I would have been there all day with an overheated kickstart setup.

Oh I ain't disputing it with you. When you put the kickstart in you drop a lot of weight, never mind if you put a carb kit in it, you're able to get rid of the fuel pump and such. Also like I said further up in the forum, I'm switching from a YFZ, after riding that my cousin's LTR feels like a boat, I rode his race quad with the yoshi kickstart and you could certainly tell the difference. But my cousin's LTR with the kickstart still weighed a couple pounds more than my YFZ with the e-start. I guess I just got lazy but damn, that LTR is still really freaking fast. :eek2:

Do some research. you can put your LTR on a diet and get it down to 350lbs. with keeping the fuel injecting. RSF Motorsports is developing a titanium series suspension components that will lose a lot of weight. We are trying to get our '08 LTR's around 300lbs. with keeping the fuel injection. all RSF Motorsports parts will be available this summer.

maybe the rider themselves should go on a diet to drop 30 pounds?

you get more babes that way

Yeah I'll be honest. I'm 6'2" and 225 pounds so I'm a little bit bigger than the average rider, though it's not fat I promise  .....no really. When I started to go to the gym to tone for racing I ended up losing 30 some odd pounds but gained back 20-25 in muscle. I think my training regimen was a little off.

If you install a kick start and eliminate the battery, how does it affect the EFI? Do you have to run a capacitor or anything like that to keep a charge going?

atveric132

the kit comes with 2 little cylinoied things that do that

ltrracer
