Put the battery on charge. When it's charged put the choke on and pump the throttle a couple times before starting. This cold weather makes starting tough.

I had this happen after 2 months and it was due to the gas turning bad. The gas mixture changed the last few years and it seems to go bad faster. You can smell the difference when it goes bad plus it turns a darker brownish color - even before it starts to varnish. It just doesn't want to ignite well after this. I had to drain the carb/tank and it fired right up.

Like above, the 400ex can be cold blooded, it should start with full choke and giving it a touch of gas. If that fails, maybe remove the plug, make sure it's wet, and check for spark.

throw some seafoam in the gas tank anytime you want to let it sit. the stuff is amazing

I just had the same probem less than a week ago...choked and would turn over with no firing. Changed the plug and it started right up....Battery went dead trying to get it fired and fouled the plug from choking it and trying to get it runnin. These things are a pain in the *** in the cold weather as it is but you have to ride them. Even if it is for 20 minutes in cold weather.

If you put a 42 pilot in it'll take care of the cold weather starting issues. Pump it 3 or 4 times, hit the start button and it'll purr like a kitten.

I took my choke out and installed a 42 pilot. It would barely turn over is was so cold, around 15 degrees, but eventually after pumping the throttle 3 times every time it died I got it running after 3 or 4 tries.

I can confirm this. :)

I leave mine on a battery tender and even when it's really cold out there it will fire after pumping throttle twice and then pressing the start button. bad gas is a whole other problem.

I broke my choke off in roll over on my Z but when I needed too run it I would get hair dryer heat head for 10 min before riding starts right up.

just pull the battery and store it inside, in the bottom of a closet or something.

mine would never start when it was cold either when it was bone stock, i rejetted and i never had to choke regardless of the weather.

like others have said check your fuel because thats the only thing that i can think would go bad in a month. It could be that the battery is weakened in the cold and just doesnt have the juice to turn the engine over but i dont know cause im not there.
