07 400ex bars?

i dont know much about the mechanical side of riding, i was curious what aftermarket bars will fit my 07 400ex, im not sure what all is involved in changing them, but i was curious what you have to do with the plastic that holds the key and the neutral light, or if you can even change the bars without a lot of custom work

banshee bends. everything swaps right over and all I did was put the stock plastic cover back over the new ones.
Dont mind how dirty/etc the quad is. Its been way too cold to clean it.

i just wish they wouldnt have put it all where they did, i liked older 400's where the key was in front of the bars...because i like the clean look for them like this

the pic above uses the trail tech clamp and bar set up...i run that clamp with fasst co. flexx bars.

the above set up can be purchased from trail tech.net

any 7/8" bars will work or any 1 1/8" bar with a big bar clamp will work...they all take a little modification, for lights and key, except for that trail tech set up

ohh i just looked at the clamp setup now, i can see the spot for the lights and key, i think ill do this forsure thanks guys

i was looking at the clamp setup mentioned above, and it says this "Honda 400EX All Years Bar Clamp for X-Bars" this may be a dumb question, but you can use any 1 1/8" bars with the clamp right? you dont have to just use the X bars?

any 1 1/8" bars will work...i was using the trail tech x bars, with the clamp, before i had the flexxbars...which i am using with the clamp...
i really liked the xbars and the price on them was good...

i got another stupid question, sorry! i bout atv pro taper grips, will these fit virtually any size bar? im basically asking, if i buy 1-1/8 size bars will these grips still fit?

Correct me if i am wrong anyone...the grips will work because 1 1/8 bars taper down to stock 7/8 for grips,levers etc.....

Here is the setup i switched to about 2 months ago....all i did was drill an extra hole for the reverse light....

and ya now that i think bout it, you're probly right that they taper down to 7/8" so all the controls fit any everything, thanks!

all of the "fat bars" taper to 7/8" so any grip will work...i prefer the odi rogue lock ons...
