Fox floats ona 250r?

I purchased the HRE max distance std. travel a-arms from danhung on here and am wondering about shocks. I found these on ebay, ill have to change the bushings to fit a 250r but they are the right size.

Has anyone done this before...my search yielded squat, if so can i see some pics.

Do you guys think this will work?

yes you can do it but why not just pick up a set for a honda so you dont need the bushings?

You need standard travel Honda shocks. 16.5". The most economical way would be to get some stock 450R shocks and have someone like GT Thunder or CD Racing revalve and respring them.

Master LTR450 is correct, why not just buy the correct ones?

good point dan i didnt notice they said LT i was just saying yes to the floats working.

I would contact someone who deals with fox shocks to see if the only difference between mounting is the bushing. If that's the case I would go that route. If not then I'd buy some that are at least compatible like 450R, 400ex, Z400 and of course 250R.

I know a guy that has some elka's that are that length he'd sell for $400

Everytime I go to the Fox shocks site, the fit guide never loads!! So i was searching the length of the shock itself. Thats how i came across these(16.4"). So if they do come in 450 stock lenght, I dont know. If I were to use a LT shock that fit the stock size, will the front end have too much travel? Wouldnt i just be able to adjust the shock itself, It seems very customizable.

On another note i was looking at the Float X Evols also, just to clear that up.

As per the 450s revalved and resprung, I could and they are a nice setup but i will know in the end thats not what iwant. What does something like that even cost by the time your done? 150 for shocks + 350-500 resprung and revalved and shipped?

On the rear im thinkin aftermarket banshee shock for the no link. How well does this work?

i wqas talking to a rep and they do make the evols for std. travel 450r so i guess my search for the fronts is done ($1495 later). BUt still am looking for some pics.

HOw about my no link banshee rear question....anyone have experience on it?

It really depends on what kind of swingarm you plan on running. Do you know which one you have, or what you're going to be getting? From my experience no-link rears are very finicky, and come in all different lengths, widths, etc.

I have a Laeger '88 -1 swingarm, its not a nolink swinger but seen in the compatability chart thread that a banshee will bolt up for a nolink. Thats the info i was getting at.

So you're saying you want to put $1500 shocks on the front end and then throw a non-compatible mis-matched rear end setup together? Somewhere this isn't making much sense?

What you're trying to do may work, but there aren't going to be any performance advantages, especially if you used what you're saying you want to use. If you have that swingarm, I'd suggest getting a quality 250R link rear shock and having it setup for your weight/riding. It'd be better than the Banshee setup you're trying to go with... IMO.

X2 i would not suggest doing the banshee no-link setup if you have a swingarm thats setup for the linkage do the shock properly like Wes said. if you run a no-link banshee shock your probably going to be very dissapointed. the no-links are only nice when you have a bike built for it and your using a 18" shock. if you run a no-link you will be running something like 16" and its not really meant for your bike like that so its going to be rough.

OK, so whats a decent rear to match air shocks on the front. When i talked to the rep all he said he had was the matching rear for a 250 raptor.

Also seen a I seen a set of evols on ebay for $700

any of the aftermarket makers would be a good choice, but if i remember correctly you are from canada?? if this is right you would probably be better off getting a elka rear since elka is located in canada so it would be eaiser to send it to them then say custom axis in PA
