I swear I saw a thread on this but maybe not. What kind of handguns does everyone have? Anyone have a CCW? Carry on you, in vehicle, shoot for fun?

Guns are a new hobby for me, my dad had guns when I was a kid and i've been hunting a few times. But I just got a Colt .357 revolver, 4".

That .357 is a beast, but hella fun to shoot!

No CC here in IL, but it would be nice. I just target shoot and plink for fun.

I have a small collection of handguns that I shoot but I mostly shoot a Walther P22, Ruger Mark II 22/45, and a Beretta 92fs. The Beretta is my pride and joy for now, it's a smooth-shooting weapon. It's got tritium sights, Hogue rubber grips, and a Lasermax internal laser. Also just picked up a Mec Gar 18 round flush fit magazine for it :scary:

Just bought a Walther PPS .40 for my dad for Christmas too. Super slim, compact, and very comfortable.

edit...I hate not having pics so I snapped a few of mine

The ruger is awesome, definitely one of my favorite guns. Deadly accurate at the range, I punch out 10 rings all day with mine. Not too finicky about ammo, but don't feed the crappy stuff and you will have minimal to no malfunctions. A ruger 22 is a must for any collection IMO. That or a browning buckmark...you can't go wrong with either.

Anyone been to a gun shop lately? They can't keep Ruger's and Rossi's in stock. Decent priced guns and with Obama goin on office gun sales are way up.

I have one or two lying around somewhere.

I'm a cop and firearms instructor and have several pistols. Most are really just work guns, but I have a few plinkers.

Really fun and exciting when you start. Then it slowly eats away at your soul. Other than that, it's a good job. ;)

Don't want to hijack the thread - the answer would be way too long. I do get free ammo, though - so how bad could it be?

What kind of license do you guys have to obtain to legally be able to carry a handgun around with you (even in a car). I'm pretty sure it differs from state to state. I am about to turn 18 and am definitely interested in being able to purchase a hand gun and keep it on me when i please.

I live in Maryland BTW

Many states have "shall issue" concealed carry permits you can get after a background check, class and fee. But many do not. It differs from state to state, but invariably you have to be 21 years old. I'm sure you could google your state firearms laws and find out your requirements. In OK, it is pretty easy to do.
