does it sit any lower than stock shocks? how do you like them?

that's with the collars all the way up, and i think it sits a little lower... the first bit of travel of those progressive really has alot of sit-in tho, so with me on it i bet it is considerably lower.

as far as liking them... the only thing i've done so far is look at them, lol. just got home from putting them on. i have to get my carb fabbed and installed now before i can even try them out.

The shocks are slightly shorter eye to eye than stock so you end up sitting around a half inch lower than stock. But if you adj the ride hight you can sit at around 6" of GC. I ran them low as could go and stiffened the compression 1 click from as hard as they could go and I sat like a TT racer but ran mx tracks fine. I removed the black plastic thing that protects the shock shafts for better look and painted the springs and bodies. And the shocks end up bottoming right before the ball joints come to their limit. With 20" mx fronts my frame normally would scrape the ground a little in front when the shocks would bottom.
Heres yfz shocks with stock A-arms and a TCS reabuilt rear

Heres +3 A-arms with yfz450 shocks. Shocks where not much better than stock 400ex shocks after switching to +3 arms.

Heres what +3 A-arms plus stock valving yfz shocks look like with pre load rings to top. Only 1" of shock shaft showing!! Talk about flat track.

Im really interested to see how you like those shocks. So far I havent heard enough about them to decide on yfz450 or 450R. I definitely need something different though. Its not fun to load your bike with sprained wrists...

i wanted to do that too... did you have to take the bottom part of the shock apart to do it? if so does that require a nitrogen recharge?

How much more can you raise the ride height? I'm also debating 450r or yfz shocks but I ride alot of rocky trails and don't want to lose more than an inch of clearance but from all the pics I've seen it's sitting significantly lower. I like the looks of the yfz shocks and have heard good things about them so it would be sweet if I could run those.

For what your doing just get the r shocks and you will even gain some height.

does the 450r shocks always gain you height? Even with +2's?

when i had my 450r shocks on +2s i gained about an inch in the front which the preload all the way backed off.

yeah thats what keeps me from getting 450 shocks. Just save up and get some already built for your specs
